Re: Shifter Back Light

Honestly, I could not have told you if it was back-lit or not - Two cars, 5+ years now, we both pull it all the way back to 'B' and leave it there . . . . you know it's in the right gear because the shifter won't go any further back AND it slows down when you lift your foot off the 'go' pedal

Re: Is the i-Miev for us?

I drove a Fiat 500 on Texas freeways including I35. That makes me brave and a good Austin hippie wannabe :) A high school friend had an old Fiat 500, so I'm very familiar with it's performance - You were brave indeed!! With that in your background, you're going to think the iMiEV is a ROCKET! Every...

and the fact that there is no gas option. There is no gas option now, but it was designed and built as a gas vehicle in 2007, later introduced as an EV. Actually, the longer, wider, heavier North American EV version was never offered anywhere as a gas powered vehicle - It is significantly different...

Re: Rear Tire For Sale $25

Maybe a bit like mine - I hit a chunk of asphalt that fell off a truck in front of me and blew out a front tire. I always replace tires in pairs, especially if the new ones I get are a different brand/model, so I have a newish front tire with about 7,500 miles on it sitting in my garage too . . . . ...

Re: New Owner - Ben got an iMiEV - Again!

Just an idea. I know I'd like to play with it and see how it works. I don't know if there's a market for such an item or not, but there are a lot of electric car drivers who also have solar! It certainly makes sense - Make the maximum use of energy that power company would pay you very little for i...

Re: Is the i-Miev for us?

I would certainly disagree that they are 'cheaply built' as we have two of them and after more than 5 years, we've yet to have so much as a rattle show up in either of them. The interior is a bit sparse and some of the plastic bits do look a bit cheap, so maybe that's where the comments come from - ...

Re: Can I plug in but not charge?

You could put a timer on the input of the EVSE, set to turn on shortly before you want to pre-heat in the morning

Re: What tire would you recommend?

As for fuel economy, I'm not so sure there's that much difference. Round trip to work and back (about 33 miles) costs me 8 or 9 bars from a full charge with either the Dunlops or the Yoko's but it's funny because the range remaining gauge says I can only go 63 miles on a full charge now compared to...

Re: Wanted : 2012 SE

Yup, if you want Nav & DCQC then you need an SE Premium as the standard SE didn't come with either of those and you couldn't get DCQC as an option either, like you can on the ES models They didn't make as many of the Premiums as it was about a $4K upcharge from the standard SE and few of us want...

Re: RR in kilometres

Reread the post above yours - He says to select the main odometer reading (not the trip meters) and press and hold. It will change *everything* (speedometer, odometer and both trip odometers) from Kms to miles and back again. They all read in the same measurement together, either miles or Kms
