Re: Battery Replacement - Lessons Learned

Tesla packs are arranged in replaceable modules, either 13 or 15 of them in the complete pack IIRC. I would bet if they have a failure, it's as simple as changing out the defective module. In addition, they use thousands of small cells, each fused separately so that if a single cell shorts out, the ...

Re: Battery Replacement - Lessons Learned

I'm happy that your dealer stuck up for you, and with a new pack you're good for many years to come, especially as you'll probably get the LEV50N cells. I wouldn't bank on that I know if I was running the circus, I would be taking in all the defective packs replaced under warranty and analyzing wha...

Re: Car Keys

Well, it *is* a Mitsu dealer selling them, and they do say 'send us your VIN to make sure', so I think I'd give it a try - If it doesn't work, I think eBay will help you get your money back

Re: GENTLEMEN. I need help.

Even so, 72 km with 4 bars gone (12 remaining) is 45 miles - Much, much better than he was doing a couple months ago

Re: GENTLEMEN. I need help.

In other news, I have an RR of 72 after using 4 bars to do 22 miles. Need to test. Coming home, one bar read 7 miles; 112 hypothetical RR... Golly! - I had to go back to your very first post "I know the iMiev, I have been researching it for years. I knew what to expect. I have had mine for two...

Re: GENTLEMEN. I need help.

First, the condenser is in the front of the car, giving off hot air not cool air. Second, the 'Temp' control regulates the system trying to maintain the evaporator (the part inside the car) at a constant temperature, so when you blow air through it, you'll get a regulated temperature in the car. Whe...

Re: GENTLEMEN. I need help.

Surprising to me, the RR reduction is independent of "coolth" setting, but is very susceptible to fan setting. Very true - We discovered this early on. Apparently, it's how rapidly you carry the 'cool' away from the evaporator and not how cold you have it set to - Once the car gets comfy,...

Re: GENTLEMEN. I need help.

It's best not to leave is set fully charged - Some of us only do a full recharge every few weeks. We usually drive on 10 or 15 mile round trips, so recharging from around 3 or 4 bars up to 6 or 7 bars once or twice a week is all we need. If you're headed out on a longer trip and need a full charge, ...

Hopefully, neither the laptop nor the EV are actually charging their batteries to 100%
