Re: Forum Etiquette and Member Behavior THANK YOU

The reason is the word Tesla isn't mentioned much here. That word gets mentioned and then everything goes crazy. We have a couple Tesla owners who regularly post here (Joe has more posts than anybody and he owns a Tesla) and they get discussed here from time to time with nary a contrary word, so I ...

Re: 12 Volt battery is failing, I'm looking for replacement

I wouldn't wait - I would drive it home from the dealership and find a replacement ASAP - Certainly within the next few days. If you don't it may leave you stranded one day and that's not something you want to happen There are lots of ways to go here. Reread this thread, find what you want and get i...

Re: 12 Volt battery is failing, I'm looking for replacement

That should work fine - You'll have to work out the mounting details as it's much smaller than the OEM battery. It's AGM so it should last you a long time

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Could you fill us in on some of the purchase details? What you paid, what discounts or rebates you were able to take advantage of and so forth We also have two iMiEV's and are very interested in getting something which has a longer range for those occasional trips beyond the iMiEV's range. Being ret...

IMO it's completely a judgement call - Is the newer car worth $2750 more to you? If it is, buy it . . . . if not, buy the '12

Re: 2012 iMiev for sale (Normal, IL)

It is in excellent condition, and we would keep it if our new town had the infrastructure to support it If you truly love it, might I suggest you give it a second (or third) thought? We have two iMiEV's and live in a town with exactly one public L2 charging station, which we have used exactly once ...

Re: Extended warranties

In their defense, they did not know it was an electric car until I told them. But, it was an amusing conversation. They contact you to sell you an extended warranty on a car they know absolutely nothing about?? In their defense, it seems they're not very smart . . . . but then since they would more...

Re: Battery Replacement - Lessons Learned

Tesla packs are arranged in replaceable modules, either 13 or 15 of them in the complete pack IIRC. I would bet if they have a failure, it's as simple as changing out the defective module. In addition, they use thousands of small cells, each fused separately so that if a single cell shorts out, the ...

Re: Battery Replacement - Lessons Learned

I'm happy that your dealer stuck up for you, and with a new pack you're good for many years to come, especially as you'll probably get the LEV50N cells. I wouldn't bank on that I know if I was running the circus, I would be taking in all the defective packs replaced under warranty and analyzing wha...

Re: Car Keys

Well, it *is* a Mitsu dealer selling them, and they do say 'send us your VIN to make sure', so I think I'd give it a try - If it doesn't work, I think eBay will help you get your money back
