Re: 2012 Mitsubishi iMiev SE - Bad OBC

If you're wanting to sell it, where is it and how much are you asking for it?

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

All North America iMiEV's came with a remote control (of sorts) from the factory - It's my understanding that most other countries version of the car didn't. I know the ones sold in Europe didn't, but not as sure about the Aussie version. Are you sure the car you're looking at is remote capable? Any...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

One of the blessings of the EVSE Upgrade many of us did long ago is they replaced the standard L5-15 plug which came on the North American factory Panasonic EVSE's with an L6-20P twistlock (later they used an L6-30) which is a much more suitable plug for a higher current device - I think the primary...

Re: Always on lighter/12v port - Charging battery banks

Good price, but you probably don't need 100 feet of wire ;-) Lowes, Home Depot, West Marine and many other places sell duplex wire in most gauges by the foot, so you can just buy what you need. 12 gauge would be fine for 10 amps or so if it's just a short piece. If you want a more robust installatio...

Re: Always on lighter/12v port - Charging battery banks

The stock socket is fed with a tiny wire - 18 gauge I would guess. Not good for any sort of current There are quality cigarette lighter type sockets rated for 15 amps and would probably handle up to 20 amps with correct sized wire - 10 gauge or 8 gauge if it's more than just a few feet long. They're...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've found a very nice low miles (kms) car - Those are the best ones The 'charger' is built into the car. What you're calling a charger is actually the EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) and a heat damaged plug on the EVSE has nothing to do with the conditio...

Re: IS the ASC OFF switch the same as TCL OFF switch please?

Welcome to the forum!

You didn't say where you're from - Euro model car or North America model? On the NA model, its to the left of the steering wheel, just above the lever that releases the charge port door. The switch has a logo with a car and the squiggly lines and say 'OFF' on it

Re: MCU 20A 450VDC fuse investigation

If someone researches a replacement (especially with a spring clip mount), please post it. The fuses look very much like standard 1.5 inch household cartridge fuses . I have a pair of 20 amp AC fuses mounted in ceramic snap in holders that I'm using in the circuit for charging my Volt - They are co...

Re: ASC

I shudder to think what various magazine road-tests will have to say about the iMiEV's higher-speed obstacle-avoidance tests. On the one hand, the ASC will keep the car in check, but on the other hand it will preclude spirited driving. No kidding! - I've driven our two cars for 6+ years and never o...

Re: Replace Low Beam (H11) Head Light Bulbs

The dual fog/running light housings used on the SE models are available on eBay for about $15 per pair - The exact same fixture fits many other cars and as long as the eBay listing says they'll fit a 2012 Mitsu iMiEV SE, then they will mount to your front bumper cover with 4 screws. You will also ne...
