Re: Mitsu Tech said I set car to not charge on Mondays

Both things the dealer told you are not true (although they may try to use it against you for future work). The i-MiEV has no capability for per-day timed charge. The only programming available are one-time start and stop timers. This means that if you get home at 5, plug the car in, and use the rem...

Re: one month winter iMiev non-use in Canada - what to do?

One extra caution. If the car is exposed to sub-freezing temperatures, either try to heat the battery first or charge the battery at the slowest possible rate when you bring it out of storage. Lithium ion isn't too fond of charging when the cells are too cold. They'll do it, but you run the risk of ...

Re: Mitsu Stock USB or aftermarket stereo?

The stock radio works just fine with iPhones, however one needs to pay some attention when trying to play YouTube videos. The radio interface doesn't fully understand the difference between videos and music, and it will try to play music in-between videos, often at a louder volume. I played that gam...

Re: Regen vs Neutral and speed for max range

Joe, thanks for clearing up your talking points. After reading through the last few pages, it's been tough for me to even follow what was disputed. It will be interesting to see results of regenning down a hill at different speeds. Be careful out there.

Re: Peugeot ION multiple problems

My impression is that the charger isn't getting high voltage DC. What is the voltage of the 12 volt battery both with the car turned off and running (READY illuminated on dash)? This will tell for sure if the charger is getting DC power from the drive battery, as the 12 volt converter and main batte...

Re: Constant 12V with ignition off

There definitely should be a live 12 volt line to the radio in the stock harness, although there is no ground. Typically with the adapter cables, constant power is Yellow and switched power is red. The color code of the stock harness doesn't follow this, though. When I was messing around with differ...

Re: Regen vs Neutral and speed for max range

I think what's getting lost in the conversation is the steepness of the hill (grade). Bradley's post seems to relate to slight downgrades where the i-MiEV can maintain or very slightly gain speed while coasting, and therefore regen has almost no excess energy to recover. In this case, best to coast ...

Re: Airbag Warning Light

Does anyone know if the airbag system is under a warranty that is separate from the normal i-MiEV warranty? (Sigh.) :( Does anyone know if the iCarsoft i909 Scanner can perform an airbag light reset? Seconded. Now Koorz has a lit airbag light. Since I also have the Takata recall for the passenger a...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Toyota is anti-EV because they believe in Hydrogen more, and they don't consider Hydrogen cars to be EVs (however, the only difference is they have a fuel cell instead of a lithium ion battery, though FCVs still have a smaller battery pack). They were the ones to introduce Hydrogen cars back in the ...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

It's been a while, but the Bolt is now fully repaired. Two new tires (one necessary, the other due to front right wheel/tire becoming a full spare), 4 new, aftermarket wheels, an alignment, and a new wheel bearing. Total cost - $1,400, though I gained a full spare tire, two winter rims, and a 6"...
