Re: Problem With Putting Car Into Park

I've had mine not quite latch all the way into Park a few times. Pushing the lever to the right locked it in.

Re: Is my battery dying ?

Shipping Yuasa batteries by air? That ought to go over well  ;) (Dreamliner incident?). In all seriousness, though. DBMandrake, per your signature, your car is a 2011. When most of us here in the States bought our cars, there was an addition to the owners manual after it was printed in the form...

Re: Investigation - fast 12v depletion while stored

Been a while. I went to get my flash drive with music out of the I-MiEV. The car's been sitting since April 3. I went out to the car, it unlocked and started just like normal. I started it up and let the battery charge up a bit. Tonight, I plan to go out, unlock the car, open the door, close the doo...

Re: How to shift gears

The US I-MiEV most definitely goes to full power in all 3 drive modes. ECO extends the pedal travel required to go full power by roughly twice that of Drive or Brake. My guesses on why there are two sensors are either to facilitate the different drive modes (which is easily done in software) or, mor...

Re: Investigation - fast 12v depletion while stored

I always lock using the fob button, pressing twice to get a horn chirp. This is a constant.

The difference is whether or not I start the car. I'm trying to see if something in the car doesn't go back to sleep mode if READY isn't invoked.

Re: Not Charging. Main Inverter Fuse blown

My first thought is that the loose negative cable caused some problems for the DC-DC converter, which is responsible for charging the 12 volt battery. I would disconnect the negative cable for a few hours, then reconnect and tighten it and then start the car. Let us know if it achieves READY.

Investigation - fast 12v depletion while stored

On both of my I-MiEVs, I've noticed a trend that, in my case, usually results in rapid discharge of the 12 volt battery (rapid being a few days). The Symptoms While the car is parked longer term and not being driven, there is understandably some drain on the 12 volt battery. Usually, each I-MiEV can...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

My issue with Hydrogen is, that even with Hazer's solution, it doesn't address the consumption of natural gas in the first place. Given that I live right in the middle of the Marcellus shale madness, putting wells in and fracking causes a great deal of emissions before any gas even comes out of the ...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

Plenty of new houses built every day. Make this the standard new homes are built to, well insulated and self-sufficient. We'll have better luck at that than forcing the replacement or retrofit of millions of appliances and an entire infrastructure to switch from CH4 to H2.

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

It really is a completely separate problem. Any other suggestions than converting the whole mess to hydrogen? In our house currently, the following devices run on propane (since we don't live near any gas infrastructure): 1. Furnace 2. Clothes Dryer 3. Water Heater 4. Stove and Oven In the new hous...
