Re: Radio button ilumination

That's opposite of what a radio should be doing. On the NA stock radio, the screen is bright and buttons are not lit during the day, but turning on the lights dims the screen and lights the buttons.

Has this radio always done this? How long have you had the car?

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

I agree. I think that if the outside edge of the wheel hit the wood, it would've been worse. The wheel splitting absorbed a lot of energy. As for the ice trough, my solution has been to turn the wipers on delay (which parks the upper wiper slightly above the dashboard), shut the car off, and leave m...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

So, more on this second flat. Driving home from work a couple weeks ago, I just crossed railroad tracks on a corner and as I was straightening out and accelerating, I glanced down at the speedometer to check my speed (try to drive by feel, but occasionally check myself). I looked back up and just ca...

Re: Eliminating Mitsu's Onboard Charger/DC-DC Converter

I like Paint, too. Simply awesome. I second the question above. What did you do with the old charger/DC-DC converter? Might be handy to KiEV and others working on finding the culprit to the failures. I like your replacements for the OEM unit. Keeps the car happy with no major loss of functionality (...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Ah, that Cajun red 8-) . That's the color I wanted originally, but couldn't get my hands on. I still like my orange, though. It's different. Although, I think my Bolt's cursed. Been driving i-MiEVs for 5 1/2 years now with hardly any issues. I've had the Bolt 13 months and have had 2 flat tires, one...

Re: Ultra cold weather range

Brr. Since you mentioned a diesel heater, life will be a lot easier with one of those, especially with workplace charging. That said, with -10F and the stock heater on MAX, my worst range was 40 miles/64 km. At temperatures that low, you'll need to keep the battery warm. With a cold battery, you'll ...

Re: What Other EV's Have You Driven?

Let's see, outside the normal i-MiEV, LEAF, Volt, i3, I can now add to my list:

1. 2011 Tesla Roadster (old news now)
2. Tesla Model X
3. Chevy Bolt (obviously, I own one now  )
4. Corbin Sparrow (Thanks, Joe)
4.5 Sat in the driver's seat of a Model 3.

Re: Selling remote charger control

I'd like to be one of the first to express interest, but I'm curious if you think you'll ever sell the car, as keeping the remote with the car can boost its sale price by more than what you'd get for the remote itself.

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Has anyone done temperature measurements on a reduced current level 2 charge? Does charging at 12 or 10 amps reduce the generated heat in the charger?
