So on the other side of the argument, is it fair to say that if one simply plugs in the J1772 in without engaging the button, that the charging process will not start? Does this perhaps explain our experience why on occasion when out at a public charger where the button doesn't engage, that chargin...

I think the 16 bars was a holdover from the original gas turbo i. It just happened to coincide with the i-MiEV battery being 16 kWh.

What's kind of funny is I have the opposite car, a silver i-MiEV with the side graphics added to it :lol: .

I think Lithium Titanate cells, wired 6 cells in series, are better suited for aux. battery duty than LiFePO4. Voltage range is 9-16.8 volts, so no worries of the cells sitting at full charge all the time. This is the same chemistry used in the SCiB drive batteries for JDM i-MiEVs and features incre...

Window lock button isn't pushed down, is it? The lock button will disable all passenger windows, even the switches on the driver's door. Concerning items 2, 3, and 4, I normally charge my car at 12 amps on 120 volts (level 1) or 13 amps on 240 volts (level 2). These are the defaults on my EVSEUpgrade cord. .75 kWh/bar implies around 80% remaining capacity (82.5% by my math), but that's assuming 16 kWh actual new capacity. When my i-MiEV got a new pack in 2015, it topped out just over 45 Ah, for a usable capacity of 14.7 kWh. Accounting for the 12% reserve below the 1st bar, this works out to .81 kWh/b...
