Re: Selling remote charger control

I'd like to be one of the first to express interest, but I'm curious if you think you'll ever sell the car, as keeping the remote with the car can boost its sale price by more than what you'd get for the remote itself.

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Has anyone done temperature measurements on a reduced current level 2 charge? Does charging at 12 or 10 amps reduce the generated heat in the charger?

Re: Why is 240V 3x faster than 120V

It was a rather small transformer, so I may have used the wrong description. As for vampire loads in the car, there is quite a bit. There are at least 2 contactors engaged, there are losses in the charger, the coolant pump cycles on and off, the main computers are all active, and (although negligibl...

Re: Why is 240V 3x faster than 120V

We're starting to drift off-topic. After driving my i-MiEV for 5 years and noting how numerous different charging stations charge, an EVSE that is capable of 16 or more amps will ALWAYS charge the i-MiEV faster when fed with single-phase, 240 volts from the utility compared to a unit pulling 208 fro...

Re: i-MiEV (and clones) in non-supported (?) markets

I got a really strange feeling while trying to talk over the phone with them, one of them also told me that EVs in general do not exist and that they are "fake news"! I think that takes the trophy even over some of the wonkiest things US dealers have told potential buyers. According to ht...

Re: A/C sticker shock

I'd sure like to know what goes wrong with these compressors. I don't know what disconnecting it would do, but I do know that the A/C is totally separate from the heater, so being without A/C shouldn't affect heat. Without the compressor, DC quick charging may be possible, though it'll likely fault ...

Re: Switching on the balancer for an individual cell

Mani, how are you charging the car? Are you using a cord plugged into a 120 volt outlet or a 240 volt charging station? What may help is running the car down to 2 bars and charging uninterrupted using the slowest charge method available (in most cases, the stock cord at 8 amps, 120 volts). One membe...

Re: Lost regen with new tires

I think it's an oversight in programming, as the regen paddle in D will also cause it to slide, even with all safeties on. Leaving it in D and using the brake pedal doesn't have the issue. But enough about the Bolt.

Re: Lost regen with new tires

The car allows enough difference in the tires for the tires to wear differently without disabling regen, but changing the ratio of front circumference to rear circumference outside of the really narrow window will disable regen. Koorz has new rear tires and nearly worn out fronts and the regen is st...

Re: First post and first problem

Unless you noticed the lights on the car (dome, headlights) being exceptionally brighter than normal, I second a shorted cell in the 12 volt battery. Won't hurt (hopefully ;) ) to rule out proper charging voltage of around 14.4 volts while READY.

By the way, welcome.
