Re: My Car is Only Charging Up to 12 Bars

Ed5000, any updates on your situation? I take it that the dealer has the car now?

Re: Charging Down Route 66

Hopefully I'm not too late. Did you have plans to stop and check out the Solar Roadways installation in Conway Missouri?

Re: iMiEV as workhorse

Although it's not a demanding task, I picked up a new Thule bike rack yesterday. I'm going to Pittsburgh for a bike ride with some friends, so I'm finally making use of my "accessory" hitch. I went for a quick test drive around the block last night, and only felt a little extra tug at the ...

Re: My Car is Only Charging Up to 12 Bars

For my dealer, to diagnose, test, and replace the battery, took 3 weeks.

Hmm, the voltage difference was reduced after balance charging. Can you do another balance charge and post the results?

Re: My Car is Only Charging Up to 12 Bars

Failing to charge to 16 bars has always been the telltale sign of a faulty cell. Capacity degradation, on the other hand, will only show by a decrease in RR but will still charge to 16 bars. The more the faulty cell discharges, the less and less the battery will charge. You are correct that the car ...

Re: Widening Takata airbag recall

Just got my notices, too.

Being that it only affects the passenger airbag, I'm in no hurry. Very rarely do I have passengers. Besides, have they cleared up that the replacements are good?

Re: Considering a 2014

Welcome to the forum. Does your commute include highway driving, or is it mostly main roads? 40 miles should be pretty doable year-round if you stay off the highway. Even more so if you have workplace charging available. My older Android phone shows up as a flash drive. However, it is possible to ad...

Re: Our Gas Free Miles Travelled

Nice write up. Bear is set to pass 40,000 miles this week (Thursday will be the day if not sooner). It's hard to believe I'm almost halfway through the battery warranty, both time and distance wise. Meanwhile, Koorz has only had 3,000 - 4,000 miles put on in the last two years. I've only not taken t...

Re: Annual Battery Calibration check $130.00?

This one should work: https://www.scantool.net/obdlink-mxwf/ No idea on the foam bits. I've only pulled my filter twice and knocked a little dust out of it, still using the original. We've discovered over the years that capacity loss won't show on the charge gauge (just the RR number will decrease)....

Re: Interesting EV Article

Not bad, though I want to reply to the comment about industry standard battery swapping (hint if someone wants to), but I can't since I don't participate in social media. Tesla already has a swappable battery built into all their cars. They've demonstrated it shortly after the Superchargers were unv...
