Re: Tesla Model 3

I had the opportunity to check out a Model 3 today after some confusion on the actual location (original invite was for a coffee shop, but it ended up being at the nearby service center). I arrived at the service center to find a total of 4 Model 3 cars present, 3 owner cars and 1 awaiting delivery....

Re: Range extender !

The discharged pack started at 30% charge, so if the other one was at 100%, then the pack's equalizing at 62% is reasonable. The low pack gained 32%, so the high pack had to lose at least 35%, which would put it at 97% starting charge at a minimum, which is where it looked like it started. 3% of an ...

Re: adding charging capacity

...whereas a BoltEV and its huge pack can easily get by using L1 for its daily charging. It can, but level 2 charging is so much more efficient. As for boosting I-MiEV charging power, I remember it being posted somewhere that the car shuts down if more than 4-5 kW go into the pack while plugged int...

Re: I have a secret

Is it possible they went by the service interval screen by mistake? There are a bunch of screens that are easily confused.

It would be tough for a 2017 to have 14,000 miles already, but I suppose it's possible.

Re: 5 Year Ownership Review

It is a shame that it will never be widely recognised at the first mass-market EV of the modern era. It's also a shame that in about 10-15 years, very few if any will be on the road - but I will have to wait and see. So true. Many don't realize that the i-MiEV accomplished a nationwide US rollout f...

5 Year Ownership Review

Wow. I can't believe it's been nearly 5 years since purchasing the I-MiEV. Where has the time gone? I must say that everything that I've been through with the I-MiEV, the places it's been, the other EVs I've seen and driven, and everyone I've met, living the EV life has been really good to me. I've ...

Re: 12 Volt Source Behind Glovebox??

There must be a wire somewhere there I can use as a 12 volt source to power a back-up camera - Anyone know what color wire to look for? Thanks! Don The easiest place I can think of is the radio harness. If you want to make it 100% reversible, then you can pick up male and female adapters for Mitsub...

Re: Aux battery short circuit

It could be as simple as a bad 12 volt battery. Both of my i-MiEVs have been sitting for a while to keep them off the salty roads. I went to start Bear the other day to find the 12 volt battery sitting at 7 volts, but due to the cold, it wouldn't immediately take a charge. Since I have one of those ...

Isn't the rear door mechanical release behind the speaker grill like in the Model X?

Re: Garage EVSE Location

For those that have a two car garage that want to back in with both I-MiEVs, I found a pretty neat solution for charging the right hand side car. This requires attic space above the garage, though.
