Re: Cost to replace an i-miev battery?

Do the LG 21700 cells have a high enough current rating? They are rated for 7.3A. An LEV50N is capable of 300A continuous (https://pushevs.com/2015/11/04/gs-yuasas-improved-cells-lev50-vs-lev50n/). You would need 41+ of those LG cells in parallel to be able to deliver a rated 300A. I don't think the...

Hi Enginerd,

Who is your supplier for the LG 21700s?

Re: Better charging controls

My car has 65000 km (40000 mi). I'll order an MCU fuse to have on hand. As soon as the warranty is up, it is going in. The good news is that the towing coverage included with my wife's CAA (Canadian equivalent of AAA) membership will get the miev to the nearest dealership if need be.

Thanks!

Re: Better charging controls

Thanks Kiev for chiming in and your work on the OBCs. With split phase AC, the frequency is constant. Both the 120V and 240V lines are at 60Hz, with a period of 1/60 seconds (~17 msec) Edit: If you are tracing contacts on a board, you probably know a lot more about electrical theory than I do. Are y...

Re: Better charging controls

Hi JoeS, From my read of this thread, it looks like you've ended most of your charging sessions by cutting the mains power to your EVSE via an external timer. I also would like to not charge fully (for battery life) and wish that the Miev had a feature to allow stopping the charge (at 80%) for examp...

Re: 14" Wheels

Thanks for the advice Don! I had my 185/65R14 set pulled off the rims today ... and one tire was definitely bad. You've saved me a trip to the ditch.

I'll be inspecting the other set as well!

Re: 14" Wheels

Hi Don, I don't disagree that the automotive world seems to be moving away from 14" wheels in favour of 15" and larger. I, however, have had no issues sourcing used tires in good condition in 14" sizes. In the stock 15" sizes it was a fruitless search. I picked up a set of nearly...

4 Steel rims, TPMS, and hubcaps

Hi everyone, I have moved to 14" wheels on my 2012. My set of 4 15" stock steel rims, TPMS sensors, and hubcaps are now up for grabs. The rubber on the rims is shot and I can have it removed prior to shipping the rims ... but local pickup would be best. Make me an offer! Andrew Trenton, ON...
