Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Hey guys.
My OBC (Case #16 on this thread) had the exact same symptoms as ChristopheFR (Case #18).
I remember reading he swapped the bigger components on the top board, but it still wouldn't work.
Just a heads up, finally I got mine repaired. It's working right now.
More details coming soon.
Cheers

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

It has been asked before, what would be an adequate resin to replace the original one in the doghouse. After discussing this with a 3M representative, the suggested product is the following: 3M Scotchcast 2131 Electrical Insulating Resin Around 47 EUR for 173ml (55 USD for about 6oz) This is what I'...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Hi skylogger , Thanks for your effort and congratulations on your success so far. - When you cut one of the CANBUS lines, and when the AC kicks in, does the "charging indicator" in the dashboard flash on and off? Or is it steady? - I don't believe any of the relays to be malfunctioning. To...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Hi KIEV , Can you add ChristopheFR to the list? It's the exact same symptoms as mine (#16). I've been following your exchange of ideas very closely. The fact that Christophe changed his Aux in 2015 makes me think that there's more to it - though the symptoms are different. I'd say the thermal design...

Re: 12 kW chademo charging

Been following this from a distance.
Just to let you know that SETEC (China) makes such DC-AC inverters:
www . setec-power . com/supply/vehicle-to-home

They call it Vehicle to Home or V2H.
Maybe that's common terminology for this type of application.

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Hi kiev, [EDIT: thanks for the link] Mine is from Oct-2012. Bought it on Dec-2015 with 8000km. Since then I normally charge @ 3,3kW on the street, with no shade. Now it's 87.500km. Unfortunately I don't have any CHAdeMO chargers nearby, so I can't really drive it until it's fixed. Used functioning c...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Hey everyone. My internal charger just gave up so... nice to meet you all. Haha Very surprised about the reported charger temps. Also, do you know the legend of the man who fixed the internal charger ? I've heard it's posted somewhere in this forum. Thanks. Not sure yet, but if the price is anywhere...
