Re: 4 Years & 100k miles/160k km Review & Range Test

A 2014 model should have the later battery technology, which probably accounts for the range.

Re: Decyphering iMiEV and iON CAR-CAN message data

If we could get hold of the firmware, even in binary form, then patching to overcome things like VIN locking becomes possible, though hard. I can help with that. . In your opinion, do you feel that getting hold of the firmware is the most straightforward way to proceed ? I agree that its most likel...

Re: Decyphering iMiEV and iON CAR-CAN message data

Presumably Mitsubishi isn't prepared to provide the necessary information, even though the Minicab is the only comparable vehicle still in production ? Can anyone advise how much information is provided to Mitsubishi dealers and authorized service agents ? If perchance a service agent was prepared t...

Re: Poo Powered i-MiEV

The quango / company behind the 'poo powered' iMiEV has a substantial history of twisting the truth and this is merely another example. In reality, the car has stuff-all to do with poo, in fact is is a bog-standard and completely unmodified iMiEV that runs on electricity, exactly the same as every i...

Re: The Necessity For Grounding An External Gasoline Generator Used For Emergency Charging?

For what its worth, I have a portable generator that I use in emergency to charge my MiEV Minicab. The only modification needed was a 100 ohm 1 watt resistor between the earth and neutral pins of a plug inserted into the second power outlet on the generator. Note that this is in Australia where the ...

Re: 12 Volt Source Behind Glovebox??

Thanks, will go looking for same colour in my Minicab. The only manual I have is all japanese and I don't understand even one symbol, although the book is so thin that I doubt it has much info anyway.

OBD port - Minicab

Can anyone advise me exactly where the OBD port is located on a Minicab ? There is no point in asking an Australian Mitsubishi dealer as the Minicab was never sold here, the only examples being private imports.

Re: 12 Volt Source Behind Glovebox??

Can anyone enlighten me on 12v cable behind the dash in a Minicab ? This one was modified by Mitsubishi for the japanese Post Office with a plate riveted over where I presume the ashtray used to live, and a blanking plug in the hole where the cigarette lighter lived. I can't see any loose wired hang...
