Re: EV-ECU Reverse Engineering

use mmcflash to read this ecu Alas, the MH8106F chip seems rather mysterious. I haven't found a single datasheet for it as yet. This chip seems to often be used for vehicle ECUs, so I suspect that the lack of data is intentional, to make reverse engineering harder, so people can't do dangerous thin...

Re: Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

The manuals are online at this Russian site:

http://mmc-manuals.ru/Mitsubishi_i-MiEV/en

I hope that's the sort of manual you mean. It may take a while to find here the information you want is "filed under". It's worth persevering as the detail, when you eventually find it, is good.

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Kiev,

re the temporary fuse: what's the thinking there? I'm really uncomfortable with a piece of wire to protect a 360 VDC circuit, even temporarily.

Especially when you've just been poking around and changing things.

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Kiev, re the photo with the saw: nice "hacking" (almost literally :D ). Would it not be possible to suck the solder from the holes from above with a desoldering station, and solder in the new parts from above? I guess many people don't have access to a desoldering station, but patient use ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I followed the advices and the on-board Charger worked again. Well done! After a few days, Eek. But tragically short-lived. while my car was being charged, the fuse of our house was triggered by our high pressure cleaner and from this moment, the Charger does not work anymore. Well, that' m...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I will check the 12 V battery and the 14.6 V in the ready state , but i think it must be in good condition, as it drives the other electic parts such as, e-windows ... It would seem that way, but in fact an auxiliary battery seems to need more than just enough oomph to operate windows etc. Before o...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I thought I’d take the $25 gamble. I didn’t try charging but went instead to ‘ready’ where my hopes were dashed with an audible pop from the rear of the car. Huh. So that's evidence that some of the problems happen after the fuse goes open circuit. But I'd like to be clear on the exact sequence of ...

Re: not charging my iON, cell or CMU or BMU problems

The second theory - that the BMU programs the CAN bus numbers of the CMU's to standardised numbers for each location and saves it to non-volatile storage in the CMU seems to fit the evidence far better. Yes, except that the CAN bus IDs (there are several per CMU) can be and are calculated from the ...

Re: CMU board notes, eprom, cell numbering

Thanks a heap, Kenny, please keep 'em coming.

I find it strange that the lower voltage regulator has a voltage divider going to pin 1, and the upper one doesn't. Worth a double check?

Re: Replace Low Beam (H11) Head Light Bulbs

is there a trick to it? There is usually a tongue that needs to be depressed, possibly with a small tool like a small flat-blade screwdriver. They're nearly always really fiddly, so some wiggling and force is required even when the elusive tongue is found. A second flat-blade screwdriver may also b...
