Re: Gen 2 Honda Fit EV

In addition to our "new" 2016 iMiev, I have a 2010 Fit. My wife and I love that car. Very excited to see that Honda is going to make an EV version that might make it to our market!

The solution is more chargers.

Re: Best charging practices

I love the idea of using the remote!

It's level 2 charging. I'll check to see how many amps it puts out, and adjust the time accordingly.

Thanks for your insight and ideas!

Best Commuter Charging Practices

I'd love some educated opinions on the best charging practices for my i-miev. Here are the details: I pretty much only use the car for commuting. I often commute 7 days a week, about 15 miles each way (30 miles/day). There's free charging at my office, so I generally like to charge there, not at hom...

Re: "Passenger seat airbag OFF" light on

I'm assuming that the light is on when the seat is empty? If the seat is empty, or only seating a child, then the airbag won't operate--which is why the light is on. Airbags can actually kill a small child, so they deactivate when there's not an adult's weight in the seat. If the light is on when th...

Re: Battery charging: Full versus Partial

It would be really nice if the car would give us the option of stopping a charge at a specified percentage. I know that we can try to use the remote to set a starting and ending time, but this is a major PITA--and pretty much a guessing game anyway...

Re: Used 2012 DCQC - Good Price?

While I haven't checked mine, it does seem pretty easy to do so--thanks to those who have posted photos in previous threads. Certainly worth doing yourself before paying a dealer to do it.

Re: Used 2012 DCQC - Good Price?

I'm not a mechanic, so I might be going a little too far out on a limb here. But here goes anyway: The AC compressors in ICE cars are driven by belts from the engine, so the only noise is the compressor itself. But since the iMiev doesn't have an engine, the AC compressor has to have its own little ...

Battery Balancing L1 vs L2

Does battery balancing, both the low-end and high-end, occur with level 2 charging, or just with level 1?

Thanks!
