Seized Gearbox

Mievo, I created a new thread and moved your post over here. I believe this is the first time we have heard of a gearbox problem with the i-MiEV. Lost oil? Sad to say, I'm very pessimistic about the cost to repair... Curious as to why turtle came on, as that should be unrelated. How many bars on you...

Re: I have a secret - odometer display mystery

bradleydavidgood777, I hear you so I changed the thread title to "mystery". 4110 miles sounds reasonable, as I'm always amazed at how few miles many of the used i-MiEVs have accrued. If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it and the only problem you might have is if you want to sell it befo...

Oooh, poor baby! From its VIN, that's a SE Premium. Should I change this thread's title to be more universal?

Re: 12 kW chademo charging

so has any one yet to connect a grid-tie inverter to the Chamedo port ? even with the grid on, to see if it works ? If I were to do that I'd start with a hefty resistor in series to limit the current. Sorry, don't have a spare inverter lying around, and haven't even done the switch mod to close the...

Re: Failed traction battery. How many weeks does Mitsubishi make you wait?

obrother, good news that Mitsubishi is honoring your warranty! I'm interested in knowing the steps you finally went through. Tend to agree with kiev that the 12v battery is the first thing to check. Look at it this way, after all is said and done, you now have an electric car with a brand-new batter...

Re: Future of Public EV Charging

A sliding cost structure is a great idea. The flat pricing and mandatory session fees are crazy... One of the issues across the country is laws which prohibit "selling" electricity if you are not a utility. California had such a law but promptly changed it to accommodate /kWh payment for ...

Re: adding charging capacity

Has anyone looked into adding a salvage or aftermarket 6.6kw charger? 10000clowns, welcome to the forum. Having a higher-power L2 onboard charger makes eminent sense for the i-MiEV and our relatively low-capacity packs, whereas a BoltEV and its huge pack can easily get by using L1 for its daily cha...

Re: A new used owner

Evie, congratulations and I'll join the chorus welcoming you to the forum. Your situation is not all that unusual, as a number of brand-new owners have experienced the i-MiEV's range limitation on their initial distant drive home from the dealership. You'll soon find that your range is whatever you ...

Re: I have a secret

Reminds me of the time almost exactly six years ago when I was buying my brand new i-MiEV sitting on the showroom floor and I was upset that the 'odometer' was showing 77 miles, and I used that as one of my many arguments in my negotiations. Only on the drive home did I realize it was the RR ...

Re: Maximum Miles Driven on One Charge

...So this is a new max for me with kiev2. It was too dark, wet, cold and windy for me to want to try for more even if only around the block a dozen times... 63.3miles in the middle of winter, even in the Heart of Dixie, +2milesRR = 65.3miles with photographic evidence. Good 'on ya, as the Aussies ...
