Re: Looking at a 2017 iMiev with less than 1000 kms

Boffingham, welcome to the forum. What a find! The car has spent its life just sitting there doing nothing. You are correct, as a lot of the battery condition depends on how it was stored for these last four years. Typically, I would hope it was with the main battery stored somewhere at half-charge ...

Re: Charging door light

I received a PM from imiev that what he is looking to do is retrofit his 2012 i-MiEV with an OEM charge port light, and not rig up some sort of kluge. Would someone with a 2014-2016 i-MiEV be kind enough to take a photo of the light and post it here and perhaps discuss how that light is activated? I...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

Um, Alex, I think they don't want you to go below ~28% SoC (71 miles). You got a terrific deal, as right now used Bolts are selling for more than that! Used EV prices have skyrocketed around here.

Re: Hatched a Tesla

Nah, PV1, go for a Model Y as it's more practical from a stuff-carrying perspective and can be ordered with a hitch. Earlier this year I talked two friends (both EV newbies) into getting them - one in Nashville (we agree not to talk politics) and he absolutely loves it and just came back from a 2000...

Re: Charging door light

imiev, as you can see I've moved your post over to this old thread on the same subject and there's probably another discussion here somewhere... My wife always parks her i-MiEV going forward into the garage against the right wall where I've located the EVSE very close to the charge port. I've instal...

Re: DIY 220VAC outlet.

Hi Herbie, and welcome to the forum. Sadly, I'm afraid that jsantala has moved on and hasn't posted here in five years. Let me try to understand what you are trying to accomplish: Place a ceramic heater inside the i-MiEV with a wire from the car going into a conventional home outlet (or 220vac inter...

Re: Solar array angle

Some questions after seeing Tim's photos, So in an angled versus "flat" PV installation, might the flat version capture some energy during the morning and afternoon while the angled version is in shadow? Once the Sun comes up to the front side then the angled version dominates at Noon wit...

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

From the ID.4 thread on this forum regarding long distance travel in an EV - is there any EV that can really be considered useful for long-distance travel, other than T with the SC network? From our companion mychevybolt forum, here was an anxiety-producing experience - http://www.mychevybolt...
