Do you have a picture of the charger setup in the 2012? It sounds different than the 2014.t
Dunno what possessed me to call it the BMU. What I was referring to we've been calling the doghouse portion of the OBC/dcdc. Corrected my post.

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

So, yesterday was a busy day with a non-stop 65+mile round trip to SFO and by mid-afternoon when I returned home I had run the car down to two bars so I just left it sitting there to cool off, with CaniOn showing the battery pack at around 31°C (88°F). Plugged into L1 at around 10pm. Stuck a 6"...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Aerowhatt, glad to see your entrepreneurial spirit alive and well, and count me in for a couple of 'kits', if you decide to do it. I haven't taken my front bumper off lately, but IIRC there was lots of room in there to place a fan. Too many other projects for me to play with this right now, and my e...

Re: Portable CHAdeMO

Here's the link to Setec's small CHAdeMO and CCS chargers:

I've sent them an enquiry regarding price and availability. My follow-up will be to see if they handle single phase 60Hz.

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

...Funny how realizing your >$4,000 charger/DC-DC is running uncomfortably hot motivates one to get things done. I plain didn't want to charge again without a solution in place. Wife always get nervous when I'm working in the garage late into the night ;) Same here! :geek: Regarding failure rates, ...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

I was shocked, I tell you, I was shocked, as up until now I had considered the engineering on our i-MiEV to be excellent. It simply never occurred to me that, with liquid cooling, there would be any thermal issues, and certainly did not expect high case temperatures. I had simply assumed that Mitsub...

Re: ChargePoint Charging Question

databeestje, this thread is specifically about the ChargePoint brand EVSEs (ChargePoint being probably the most prolific supplier of public charging EVSEs here in the US). Is your comment about ChargePoint or some other brand of EVSE?

Re: Charging experience in the UK

Hi databeestje, sorry to hear of your charging issues. I didn't quite understand what you meant by this statement: Also, if you have activated the EVSE and are plugged in, does the car trigger the ventilation mode? Mine does, so it does actually detect the EVSE. It just won't charge. If the car is e...

Re: Admin: Posting Pictures on this Forum

Another input, this one from kiev from another thread: I use a free hosting site, imgur.com, for my pictures. They provide "get share links" for posting to forums which resize the photos to fit the page width. Just copy and paste the BBCode forum link from imgur into your message. Related ...
