Re: Strange things with quick charging

...As I was looking at CaniOn, it does not have such value as SOH like Leaf Spy has. How to determine state of health for I-miev?... The latest version of CaniOn reads what the car has computed as its capacity, in ampere-hours (Ah). A new battery's full capacity starts out somewhere around 45Ah. Fo...

Re: Strange things with quick charging

Gencis, I wouldn't read too much into the kWh put into the battery, as that might be a function of actual battery capacity. If you are interested, you might get the app CaniOn for Android and a genuine OBDLink LX or MX Bluetooth adapter, as that will reveal its battery capacity and individual cell s...

Re: Strange things with quick charging

Hi Gencis! The premature shutoff of the fan during quick charging is befuddling, but normal. Yes, it ocurs around 70%. No idea why that happens. My 2012 North Amercan version i-MiEV always stops charging at exactly 80% SoC. I have never tried plugging back in to see if it would go higher on CHAdeMO,...

Re: Gen 2 Honda Fit EV

The blue electric Fit was a very nice car! I test-drove one - peppy, good handling, etc. The only deficiency is that the battery space encroached into the rear seat footwells such that the Fit's wonderful folding rear-seat scheme was partially compromised. Yeah, they were only for lease (which immed...

Re: Public Charging Station Customers

Fun times, Joe, but I'll suggest an amendment to your below list as follows. #5, EV commuters have trouble using L1 or L2 if it isn't within easy walking distance, so may need DCFC. #7, same for apartment dwellers, plus the insecurity of offsite parking at night, even if within walking distance. Th...

Re: Shore Trip

Other than the satisfaction of actually driving those 88.5 miles on one charge, why do you want to unnecessarily stress your battery when you have charging available along the way? Getting to the shore in one shot and jumping in the water rather than stuck in Glassboro on hot pavement for several h...

Re: 97 miles on single charge with 2012 Mitsubishi iMiEV (US model)

Bradley, I found that a separate dashboard-mounted specific GPS is a very good tool to be able to judge how you're doing during the trip from an efficiency perspective, especially during a long trip. See this post: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=566&p=32038#p25993 Thanks Joe. ...

Re: 97 miles on single charge with 2012 Mitsubishi iMiEV (US model)

Aerowhatt, I completely agree with you and practice what you preach when I'm aiming to extend the i-MiEV's range (and a carryover from my Gen1 Insight practice). Popping the car into N when coming down every little bump in the road is such a habit that I reflexively do it all the time even if I'm no...

Re: Global Warming's Terrifying New Math

10 minute charge is way more likely, only requiring 1,200 amps or 450 kW. I'd hate to lug that cable. Is that really needed, as that's still faster than the time it takes to go to the bathroom and then grab a cup of coffee? For example, starting from a low SoC in the Tesla M3, one can presently pum...
