Re: iCarsoft i909 Diagnostic Tool

In the 2012 (and newer) North American version of the i-MiEV, here's what the manual says: It is possible to select the speedometer's display units - 1. Press the reset button to display the odometer 2. Keep the reset button pressed for two seconds or longer to change the display units from MPH to k...

Re: Trailer hitch wanted

Here's a thread with drawings of a small custom hitch: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2344 Photos here: https://files.fm/u/xksljth I consider the TorkLift trailer hitch I bought years ago as the most worthwhile mod to my i-MiEV, despite having to lug that 41# around all the time (...

Re: Electric motor unit warning light (stopped charging mid-charge)

Got the car back today, one week after having it towed to the dealer. Error code was P0A09. The dealer replaced the OBC. Everything seems to work fine now. Also, the problem compelled me to replace the 12V myself, 7 years after buying the car. I'm hoping for many more years of driving it. Happy end...

Re: Electric motor unit warning light (stopped charging mid-charge)

Update: I had the car towed to the dealer. They diagnosed the error and said that as a start the OBC needs to be replaced and that "luckily" there is a warranty extension on that part so there will be no charge. Now we wait for the part to come. Excellent news! Please do follow-up and let...

Re: Electric motor unit warning light (stopped charging mid-charge)

Does this Motomaster 151R look like it will work as a replacement ( https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-group-size-151r-battery-360-cca-0101510p.html ) ? Its L-W-H dimensions are 184 x 125 x 222 mm, versus 188 x 125 x 225 for the original--so close that it might work without a shim, or ma...

Re: Cost to replace an i-miev battery?

Enginerd, thank you for this. At today's rate of 1.38USD = 1GBP, that means £12,987.59 = US$17,922.87. :o    If I'm ever close to a Mitsu dealership I might just stop in and ask the same question. Contrasting the head-start that Mitsubishi had over every other manufacturer in ent...

Re: Used 2012 I-miev remote climate control

The Remote allows you to preheat the entire i-MiEV heating system, and the defroster setting really heats up the entire car nicely in addition to clearing the windows. Don't forget to turn on the seat heater switch beforehand, as that also turns on when using the Remote and provides a nice warm welc...

Re: Level One Charger Won't Charge

Ohiofriedcharger , glad to hear the EVSE and the car talk Level 1 again. Don't forget that Mitsubishi says you should be using a GFCI-protected outlet which ensures proper grounding, but a normal outlet works fine as long as it's correctly wired. ... Can I edit my profile to change my screen name? ...

Re: Accessorizing on the cheap!

Rick, thank you for your toy update. :-) I hadn't heard of silicone license plate frames (I use velcro to silence the rattle) but they sound like a good idea. Be sure to keep the box that the side mouldings came in because it's a template for properly positioning the moulding - yes, do it in warmer ...

Re: Level One Charger Won't Charge

Ohiofriedcharger , before completely giving up on your Mitsu EVSE (which I believe is different than our 2012 EVSEs as it has a 8A/12A selector switch), could you try simply testing your three-prong outlets to ensure they are properly wired with Neutral and Ground in the right place? Something like...
