Re: Mitsu Tech said I set car to not charge on Mondays

...Bonus: i have had weird chargging where the car will cut off the chargge after only 20 minutes or so. i sometimes use the remote to control the length of charging session, etc. It can exhibit some strange action such as cutting off early or chargging longer than i thought was programmed. Several...

Re: How good is the car's range prediction

CZeroOwner, thank you very much for the plots - always fun to look at numbers and see how data is presented. First off, as you know the predictions are based on a moving average of the consumption of the preceding 24km (15 miles), excluding heating/aircon usage. Although heating reduces the displaye...

Re: Mitsu Tech said I set car to not charge on Mondays

logicalmethods, to answer your two questions: 1) Remote Control activity is stopped a number of ways - the one I remember is to simply activate the car and get to READY. I don't recall anything being stored that would affect charging, especially since you haven't used the Remote. 2) To further suppo...

Re: Battery Capacity Testing

...There are other reasons to believe that a natural log model best describes battery aging so with a bit of luck I will have a useable battery for some years to come. CZeroOwner, thank you for your graphs and analysis. Agree that the log line is perhaps a better approximation, which bodes well for...

Onboard Charger / DC-DC Interchangeability

I unsuccessfully looked through our recent Onboard Charger (OBC) threads for a discussion of OBC evolution over the years, especially as it affects interchangeability. Does anyone know if the 2016 US i-MiEV OBC is directly interchangeable with a 2012 i-MiEV's OBC?

Re: What's inside a cell?

kiev, thank you for posting. Interesting that the "cell" is actually two paralleled cells. Looking at the opened package I don't see a fusible link between the two cells. My impression is that individual cell short-circuit failures are rare(?), although Tesla's configuration has such a fus...

Re: Need a longer range ev

So, DougC, what did you finally settle on? We're up in Medford (came up a few days ago for Thanksgiving to get away from that choking smoke in the SF Bay Area) and I was talking with my brother-in-law who loves his Bolt and recounted how he now despises going to gas stations... As a sidenote ...
