Re: ChargePoint Charging Question

Ok thx for the feedback, I guess it is ChargePoint’s fault for providing the best real-time data, and being the only public EVSE option between my office and home, which is the main time I need a top-off - after a heavy day of errands! I’m wondering if the timeouts become longer or more frequent as ...

Re: BMU Wanted. Battery pack 14.5kWh

Wow Tom, you're rebuilding that box of cinders? I'll be replacing my battery pack in about 3000 miles with a salvage pack, but want to keep the spares for long-term maintenance. Have you exhausted the salvage yards in your area?

Re: ChargePoint Charging Question

I have a pretty definite issue with ChargePoint stations, including the newer two-headed units. The infamous charging 'timeout' happens very soon after plugging in and continues for 10-45 minutes. Now that my pack is degraded, the ability to harvest at least 3 kWh during an hour on L2 can make all t...

Re: my Miev will not charge

MikeDuffy, I'm glad that you finally got the car back. From your reading of the service notes, am I to gather that the fault that you presented to the dealer in June was finally addressed with a charger replacement in October, and then they finally replaced the blown 20 amp MCU fuse in December? Thi...

Re: Both of my Peugeot Ion's won't charge

Hi Kes, and yes, swapping the entire left-side aluminum box containing the charger and DC-DC converter is a fairly easy job. (I got one from a breaker's yard). The coolant hoses are a straightforward connection, but as I recall, you have to remove the two plastic gland nuts along with the HV wires. ...

Re: Both of my Peugeot Ion's won't charge

Strange that the 20 amp fuse in the inverter is not blown. If that were the case, a quick and easy swap of the charrger/ dc-dc assembly would be my prescription. It would probably still be worthwhile to remove the charrger lid and see if those two teal-colored mouse-ear capacitors are indeed intact....

Re: Unexpected Turtle

I've also met the turtle before the last bar blinks out, but never with two or more bars showing... First guess would be it's the first sign of a saggy cell, but I thought that a low voltage cell would trigger a solid turtle until reset by a recharge. The flicker makes me wonder about a cold solder ...

Re: Imiev tyres

I'd definitely stick with the Dunlops out back, which is a good investment because the rears last longer and are the larger factor in rolling resistance, as they carry more weight. The Continentals are a reasonable option for the front. My impression has been that the Contis wear well and have bette...

Re: Mitsu Tech said I set car to not charge on Mondays

A note regarding use of the remote charging timer. It is not compatible with all EVSE models. It definitely won't work with the Bosch Power Xpress (originally designed and sold by SPX). Send a command remotely; it stops charging and will not resume.
