Re: TPMS on i-MiEVs

I saw the TPMS light before replacing a worn set of Enasaves with snow tires last week. Pressure in the old tires was a mite low, but I also meant to have the sensor batteries replaced under the thinking that in cold weather an aged sensor battery voltage could droop, affecting the reading in additi...

Meet The Black Adder

As my current i-MiEV is named MR BEAN, it's hard to believe that I'm not obsessed with Rowan Atkinson, but the new addition has been dubbed, "Black Adder", in a nod to another of his successful Britcoms.... This one is a 2012 ES with quick charge and 43,000 miles that I picked up from a fr...

Re: Problem Charging but it isn't the battery

Welcome Back Tony, What EVSE are you using and have there been any changes in your charging habits? Does this happen on commercial stations and without remote use at all? It took a while to figure out that my SPX (now Bosch Power Express) was basically incompatible with the remote commands. I've nev...

Re: Tesla-J1772 Adapter

I don't follow Tony Williams' business very closely- does anyone know if he (or a qualified third party) has evaluated the residential CHAdeMO unit being offered by his competition? https://www.evseadapters.com/products/portable-chademo-quick-charger At $3700, it's only 19% more expensive than upgra...

Re: Canion

MY STN1170 dongle is not showing up when my android device(s) scan for Bluetooth connections. It is flashing an amber LED. I don't see in the manual what this means. Any ideas?

Re: Imiev 2016 issue

Indeed- I have done at least 200 DCQC sessions and I think my 'personal worst' was a dozen sessions on a single hot August day, and I've only had an issue after successful handshakes on a couple of EVGO stations that prematurely disconnected. Blink stations have failed to start up a number of times,...

Re: Tesla Truck

I'd expect an adaptor to be provided for just moderate-speed truck charging, but the "Megacharger Network" appears to use a different connector than the Superchargers do. The charging inlet on the reveal trucks was just a bunch of irregularly-spaced holes drilled in a chunk of plastic, so ...

Re: Remote fob range extension?

. . . . IMO the features of the Pacifica outweigh those of the Mitsubishi even with the price differential. Others may differ in their opinion, neh? But . . . . one of them is made by FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) and , IMO, that tips the scales quite a bit . . . . no? But . . . . The Pacifica is ...

Re: 240V Charging and Extension cables (Amazing-E)

Yes, you certainly want to avoid running a long extension cord through the house or landscaping. My cord is just to enable the EVSE to be positioned on a post central to four parking spaces (two in the garage, two outside). It runs under a protective curb. However, setting up your EVSE to be plug-co...
