Re: EVSE Upgrade

Wow what a graphic display that is! But how to alter duty cycle on pilot line? Would a person have to build a heterodyning circuit of some kind that would intercept the pilot square wave and then use it to make a bigger longer one? Controlled by a little potentiometer or variable capacitor or induct...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

Here in USA, our 240 outlets are in fact two hot out of phase 120 legs that together make 240. But in EU and UK, are all the plugs inside the house for TV, refrigerator, clocks, etc single phase with one 240 hot and a neutral plus ground? A EVSE made for a EU mitsu or leaf: is it a level 1 from a si...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

My cars are in a big double carport, not in a garage. I have 120vac in the carport and 240vac in adjacent laundry room. All this is at opposite end of property from the 200 amp incoming service. The savings from abandoning gasoline could easily be eaten up by a few hundred bucks here and a few hundr...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

I have read all ten pages of this and am knocked over by how smart and clever you guys are. Bravo! Being new to all this, I am charging my newly acquired 2012 ES at level 1 8A with a first generation factory EVSE. What I really really want is to determine ONLY the work and parts needed to make my EV...

Re: Modifying the EVSE charger?

If a person puts a 240VAC plug (via adaptation) on a stock factory unmodified EVSE that came with a '12 i-miev ES, and plugs it into a 240vac dryer plug, will it blow up and be toast? Or will it know what to do and send 3.3 kw to the car charger in a happy handshake? Thank you all for explaining thi...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

A guy in Gilbert AZ on ebay is offering the duosida for $200 though I can't tell if has them or is backordering or what. I put a question to him asking if it is user programmable for various amps on 120vac. Not answered yet. One thing I don't get though...is a US early i-miev limited to 8 amp charge...

Re: EVSE Upgrade

Apologizing for taking so long to find the right sub-forum. I just joined and have had my 12 silver ES for only five days. My factory unmodified EVSE seems to run at 8A on L1 120VAC. The only time it flashed its green LED was when I plugged it into a poorly grounded outlet. Once that was fixed, it i...

Re: Modifying the EVSE charger?

I have trouble in forums with where to put stuff. My searching ability must be poor as I never can find a past discussion on whatever it is I am thinking about. Thank you for being patient. On Youtube is a guy with a LEAF EVSE that looks for all the world like ours. Maybe secretly made by panasonic?...

Modifying the EVSE charger?

I just got my 12 silver i-MiEV from a san diego dealer. It was transported to my house in tucson because there is a long stretch across the desert from yuma to gila bend where I would have run out of power. So far LOVING IT! Right now it is drinking its first level 1 charge from my carport plug usin...

Re: that little remote controller with the antenna on it

Hi All: Now that I have bought myself a 2012 i-MiEV, I will properly join the forum. Up until last evening, I was a wannabe only. In my zip code of 85745 in SE arizona, the pickings are slim. Our local mitsu dealer is not i-certified. The four in phoenix which is 100 miles away are. One of them had ...
