Re: [POLL] On-Board Charger and DC/DC Converter

I have a 2012 MiEV, bought in summer 2013, with about 88,000mi and get a summer range of about 40mi driving country roads and in a small town. The range dropped abruptly after about 40,000mi and I started to have a dead 12V battery, if I didn't use it for a couple of days. Over the years I have swa...

Re: On-Board Charger (OBC) Warranty Extended!

I've tried to look up the TSB online but it's not showing up (yet ?) on any of the TSB search pages I used. It says that "2012" i-Miev's are affected - the unanswered question is whether older models are also affected like my 2011 Ion, or was 2012 the first year the i-Miev was sold in the ...

Re: my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

The holes are plated thru in the circuit board. There are components on the bottom surface and above the waffle plate that are inaccessible without removing the plate, hopefully nothing fails there or within the plate. Sounds like my idea would work then. It should be possible to unsolder and extra...

Re: my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

While I track down replacement caps, and try an source the relevant fuse, does anyone have any tips on replacing the existing capacitors (or rather their remains) without removing the circuit board from the casing? I was thinking I could carefully remove the remnants of the caps while leaving their...

Re: my 2013 Peugeot iOn will not charge :(

It may be that these snubber capacitors are the components that triggered the recent warranty extension by Mitsubishi. Have you got more details about this warranty extension ? Onboard charger only or the whole HV system and/or battery ? US i-Miev only or i-Miev world wide ? Ion and C-Zero as well ?

Re: Surprise after Canion

There are three factors at play here, mostly discussed already: 1) The onboard charger in these cars is only about 80% efficient at best, and that's in Level 2 mode, Level 1 is probably worse. So if you consume 10kWh driving it would take 12.5kWh measured at the wall to charge it up again. 2) Cell b...

Re: Problem Charging but it isn't the battery

Hello there. I am familiar with the "timeout" during charging, I've noticed that ever since I got my Juicebox pro two years ago and have been able to see charging session graphs. I've determined this isn't what I'm experiencing though. If I don't catch the issue and manually override it, ...

Re: Main battery pack weight?

Finally got around to replacing battery. I put the battery on certified scales, weight was 520 lbs. The 363 my have been the weight for just the cells. I'm quite skeptical of this. The cells weigh 1.73Kg each (I just weighed one of the ones I'll be fitting soon on a digital scale) so that's 152Kg o...

Re: Is my battery dying ?

Hi DBMandrake, I'm wondering how you have gone with this transplant of the 4 replacement cells?, I've been keenly following your posts about this, as I have a 2010 i-MiEV which I am considering individual cell replacements for. I have access to a hoist and ease of removing the battery though, :p, s...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Spotted this thing to check, hopped in the car and gave the shifter a quick stir, and the P showed on the dashboard and then the car started charging ok when I plugged it in. Phew! (I assume you mean left hand side when facing the front of the car?) Yes. Look under the back of the car on the left h...
