Re: Battery Degradation

There is more than one weak cell shown in those fully discharged cell voltages - I count about 5 weak cells that are 200mV or more below the average voltage. It's difficult to tell looking at a table of numbers though. If possible I would recommend using Canion to get a screenshot of the voltage gra...

Re: Canion

Since Canion seems to be the app most affected by this issue I thought I would share the details in this thread. As we've suspected for a while, early OBDLink LX adaptors have a Bluetooth firmware bug that caused loss of pairing. This has now at last been officially acknowledged by Scantool and an R...

Re: I-miev does not start. Need help

OBDlink LX I bought directly from producer in US. But in total I did not like how it works. It too often losts Bluetooth connection with my phone or tablet. I tried 5 different devices but the outcome was the same. I never tried to update the OBDLink. May be it would help? I already tried fast char...

Re: Battery Capacity Testing

Coulomb, thank you for your ongoing efforts. I'll throw in another data point. I'm planning to replace MR BEAN's battery with a junkyard salvage unit shortly after 100k miles, currently at 99,220 on the odometer. Current stats according to my MUT3 clone: Battery current capacity: 27.3 Ah Battery ma...

Re: new program for monitoring charge readings

What do you mean by "voltage smoothing" in this context ? special function cell balancing, cell voltage equalization. Ah ok, I understand. Voltage smoothing is confusing terminology, cell balancing would be the best terminology in English. That's a very useful feature to have - I can see ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

The obvious two culprits. I think, especially now that these cars are ageing a bit, I will charge control more closely in the very hot/ very cold weather via the remote... though luckily that is quite rare here in the UK (and the climate is somewhat similar to Japan) (can't remember any charger fai...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

KIEV: I am tending to give more weight to your theory that majority of OBC Failures are being caused by a sick 12v aux battery. At first, I thought these failures were due to mains power surges, but now I see more evidence towards the aux battery being the lead contributor to these failures. Here i...

Re: Both of my Peugeot Ion's won't charge

A Chademo charger is not of much use when the OBC is not charging the 12v battery on either car as the 12v battery will still go flat when driving.

Re: Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

He did mention that one side measured 9 Ohms for part of the undamaged length and estimated two in series would be about 20 Ohms. The gauge of the wire and number of turns seems consistent with the measurement. But If it were 240 Ohms, then the power load would be 540 W for about 0.6 seconds to cha...
