Re: Still having dash and start up trouble

I also had trouble starting the car. Any recommendations? On the chance that the car won't start is not related to your gauge problem, I found that my car wouldn't start because the shift lever, even though it was in Park, wasn't being detected as being in Park. I had to push the shift lever forwar...

Re: So I bought the i-Miev.

Am little puzzled about the $500 kit you suggested for charging. I find Level 2 chargers on ebay for $178. What am I missing here? http://www.ebay.com/itm/EV-Electric-Car-Charger-Vehicle-Charging-Cable-Cord-16A-EVSE-Level-2-Sell-/322505876142?epid=894304871&hash=item4b16d922ae:g:HLQAAOSwy3NZYzZ...

Re: So I bought the i-Miev.

You will save time but who cares, your car is charging all night and ready in the morning, no difference for you whether 12 amps or 16 amps. I don't think i will go for the 240 evse. But the Level 2 is charging at twice the voltage and there is a significant decrease in charging time compared to a ...

Re: The Necessity For Grounding An External Gasoline Generator Used For Emergency Charging?

I'd be interested in seeing your efficiency calculation when using, for example, a Honda EU2000i generator to charge the i-MiEV batteries. Thank you for the link. I found my original smartcar posting: "A 1 KW generator would be sufficient and equivalent to the L1 charger on low charge rate. Fi...

The Necessity For Grounding An External Gasoline Generator Used For Emergency Charging?

Some time ago when considering an electric car, I was curious about the cost of using an emergency backup gasoline generator to charge the car. Taking into account the efficiencies, my calculation resulted in an equivalent mileage of about 25 miles per Imperial gallon, not much different than a typi...

Just a comment that the extension cord must have a 3rd Wire ground connection.

Re: Shifter Back Light

Just a head's up. Don't necessarily trust the position of the shifter. Always check the dash indicator. Couldn't start my car and after much aggravation discovered that even though the shifter was in Park, the indicator was not. There is a mechanical adjustment on the left side of the transmission h...

Does this mean that you drove for 22 miles, RECHARGED FULLY, then had an RR of 72 miles?
