Re: Weird Charging Curve

That notch happens very often. The triplets usually have two notches where stey stop charging for some minutes. One at 30% SOC (lasts longer than 15min, usually) and one at 70% SOC, which usually is shorter. If the car goes to 30%, that stopping point is almost 100% guaranteed. For the 70% pause, i...

Re: Solar panel charging

Maybe the most simple way to charge an EV with solar power is this: http://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/ It's not exactly cheap (but then again, EVSEs rarely are). Since it can adjust charging current with the amount of PV production available, you probably can't get much more optimized than this. Of ...

Re: Weird Charging Curve

I would have thought that even though the chart appears to show zero current for a time bucket of a good few minutes, in reality it's actually showing the lowest kilo-wattage in that time bucket increment. This, I would assume, would mean that rather than dropping down to zero for a few minutes,, it...

Re: Peugeot iOn radio missing Bluetooth phone options - how to upgrade firmware?

Does the media selection become available if you connect a USB drive with media on it? This is a significant difference to the I-MIEV, as this was supplied with a Pioneer generic head unit, that is not coded in any way, nor has Bluetooth, nor has any connectivity menu - i.e. a very typical older gen...

evidence of a considerable de-skilling in new world ways of thinking Vs the old. 'Ill use my eyes and brain before I use my smartphone Vs ill plug that in and my smartphone will give me the answer'.

Re: iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

Ive seen those figures about the IMIEV in the UK, and all I can think of is that the database is riddled with inaccuracy - though I was led to beleive it runs off DVLA data, in no way can I accept there are 10 times the number of Austin Healeys in the UK as there are Mitsubishi IMIEVs... and if it'...

Lost skills from an era of beauty for sure, but also an era when what didn't leak oil or smoke ended up rusting and falling off. https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/23/2/2/232266/93/6/4/9364610/500x375.jpg amen. To be fair, looking after a classic car is really easy. All you have to do is take ...

Re: iMiEV in North Dallas - AC/DC - Black Cars

I see a couple of 3000's when I go to my local cider supplier - Healeys - and yes, they are apparently related: https://healeyscyder.co.uk/healey-cars/ I also did a "How many are left" search, but the data for Austin Healey doesn't include any breakdown of models: https://www.howmanyleft....

My first car ... and my LAST black car: http://www.katiekat.net/Vehicles/AustinHealyEnh.jpg Steve McQueen - eat your heart out! MGA??? - I cant recall every British sports car... though easier of late, since we havent made many since the 1960s. I can see how you would call this an MGA. My dad had o...

Re: MiEV newbie needs advice please

The larger consideration for you is the proximity to a franchise dealership. Do you have to have the car serviced by Mitsubishi for the 10 year warranty to stand? if so you'll be island hopping every year.. I don't think that's any consideration at all - What would the dealer be doing to the car ev...
