Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

I'll bet a fair amount the Uk and Oz spec cars are nigh on identical spec - other than miles on Uk vs Kms in Oz. . . . . . and yet the North American cars can display either  Don Good point, I think they all can now that I think about it, though not tried it yet... i'm not within practical ran...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

All North America iMiEV's came with a remote control (of sorts) from the factory - It's my understanding that most other countries version of the car didn't. I know the ones sold in Europe didn't, but not as sure about the Aussie version. Don Some of the UK cars came with the remote - my late 2012 ...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

Hi and welcome to the forum. As others have said... nothing to do with the car's on board charger or the EVSE charging lead (which would protect the car from any damage anyway). I've had this happen on my own 2012 IMIEV in the UK, also running on 230-240V domestic. As has been said, if you draw too ...

Re: Thailand

Wonder what the Mitsubishi plan in Thailand is? http://insideevs.com/thailands-largest-energy-company-inks-electric-car-deal-6-automakers/ i-Mievs or something beyond? Mission statement I would suspect. The car in that link looks to be one of the older-gen Imiev's, as was tested during the CABLED t...

Another interesting article about the use of hydrogen in the Orkney islands: http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20190327-the-tiny-islands-leading-the-way-in-hydrogen-power Very interesting article, I had no idea that this was going on up there. One of the things that has been discussed in the wider en...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

The obvious two culprits. I think, especially now that these cars are ageing a bit, I will charge control more closely in the very hot/ very cold weather via the remote... though luckily that is quite rare here in the UK (and the climate is somewhat similar to Japan) (can't remember any charger fai...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Yes, this victim had an original 12V battery, and it's weakness was not apparent until the owner tried to drive in 'total loss mode'- overnight 12V recharging and DCFC traction battery recharging. He replaced the 12V battery before we replaced the OBC. This car had been subjected to 'hard shutdowns...

Re: power windows not working

That's extremely odd, as the car lets you close the windows for a short period even after being turned off and the key removed. If the door lock also didn't work, then It points to the door wiring, or a short in that area... don't suppose you've had any crash damage or other repairs in that area, th...

Re: New Honda EV . Similar IMIEV idea!! It’ll work???!!!

Totally agree with the hood mounted charger port - the door is too big, it's too liable to be caught or tampered with, and the lead could also end up rubbing the bodywork. Plus, I always like the chargers on the rear of the car, it always seems to be more convenient when I park at home or away. The ...
