Re: Should I buy a 2010-2011 i-Miev here in Brazil???

Trying to get it to turtle (below 9.5% SOC - no bars at all) is best to observe possible imbalances in the cells. So yes, Canion is a must-have. It's unlikely that you'll find someone in Brazil that will lend you an OBDLink, since triplets owners (imiev, c-zero, ion) there should be quite scarce. St...

Re: Canion

With my phone, I found disabling the wifi helped me keep my device connected. Different brand, but might be worth a shot.

Re: Our iMiEV Nicknames and What Has the iMiEV Been Called

My car is nicknamed morangwatt.
First, because is a beautiful shade of red and the morango is the portuguese word for strawberry.
Furthermore, this can be read as morangote, which is a way of saying "little strawberry"

Yeah, I like puns. :)

Re: Larger capacity battery replacement (20+kwh?!?)

I already had 90 miles displayed in my car, since I made the last distance before charging in a mostly flat terrain at a relatively slow speed due to some traffic (not stopping, just slow). So it's not that hard to get high numbers on RR meter. If you go slow enough you can do miracles. One driver h...

Re: Problem Charging but it isn't the battery

Having a 6.6kW charger is probably the thing I’m most jealous of from EVs newer than the I-MIEV. Getting a useful charge from an hour out of a L2 charger must be nice I know, right? That's why I've been on the fence about that Portable 7kw Chademo charger that can use 32A single-phase (or 3-phase) ...

Re: Want one, but cautious. Opinions please.

It could be also be helpful to get an OBD tool the canion app to check the battery capacity if you have the chance to see one up close. I already lent my OBD to an acquaintance who wanted to buy an imiev but needed to check the battery condition beforehand (which was an unheard of 23Ah!).

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

It looks like my car makes corrections to the Ah value twice a year. As I previously said, the Ah counter decreases my 0.1Ah every 20-something days. My car was at 39.9Ah this April, but in May it corrected to 40.8Ah. In October I was back to 40.3Ah but in November I noticed another recalculation to...

Re: Want one, but cautious. Opinions please.

May not have a choice in color, but ideally would want a red one, as I've read they have been proven to be faster than the others... But of course! Everyone knows reds go three times faster :D (Proud owner of red car here) Shame that you didn't get original red color in the USA. I wonder why? For m...

Re: 2012 miev ZERO battery degradation

I think 110v charging is the way to go for mievs .. if possible The new bigger n better bats coming out can take the load and heat of faster L2 n L3 charging much better I'm not sure I agree with that. I think I read around here that battery temperature increase charging at 6 amps is not terribly d...

Re: Canion

The difference is temperature seems perfectly normal after a charge. Some cells always end up hotter than others. In particular, one of the last sensors (64 or 65, I think) usually shows the highest temperature after finishing a charge. It usually goes down quicker afterwards, too. Malm has theorize...
