Re: Passive cooling ?

I don't know if this happens in all cars, but in mine I noticed that if you leave you car charging with the key on and the blower on midspeed, it doesn't stop charging. It just stays at 99.5% with the fan blowing. Since at that soc the charging speed is so low, the power going into the car evens out...

Re: Update from 1 DIN to 2 DIN for Citroen C-Zero & Peugeot Ion

I know some people here in Portugal bought some. But I think it only pairs with the obdlink wifi version, not the bluetooth one. You can see some pictures here: https://www.nissanleafpt.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4524&start=330 I'll ask what the brand is. I think they bought in on ebay, but I'...

Re: Weird Charging Curve

Wow, I do not not even know that much detail about stopping of the charge. Thank you for sharing. I thought the stop was due to too high or low a temperature in the battery or on-board charger. I will certainly ask the technician of the dealership if this is the way the on-board charger is programm...

Re: Weird Charging Curve

That notch happens very often. The triplets usually have two notches where stey stop charging for some minutes. One at 30% SOC (lasts longer than 15min, usually) and one at 70% SOC, which usually is shorter. If the car goes to 30%, that stopping point is almost 100% guaranteed. For the 70% pause, it...

Re: Solar panel charging

Nice to see products like this for places that don't have fair net metering laws, Tell me about it! Here in Portugal excess solar power can be sold to the grid at the fantastic price of 0.04€/kwh. No wonder everyone here is trying to use all their surplus power in-house. Some people use immersun, w...

Re: Solar panel charging

Maybe the most simple way to charge an EV with solar power is this: http://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/ It's not exactly cheap (but then again, EVSEs rarely are). Since it can adjust charging current with the amount of PV production available, you probably can't get much more optimized than this. Of c...

Re: MiEV newbie needs advice please

I don't think you should be worried about being LEV50 cells at such low mileage. That's about the same milage I have on my car and it's in tippy top shape. I have seem some heavily degraded LEV50 cells on an imiev with 62000 miles, but I believe even that is an exception to the rule, especially if y...

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

To be fair, that's not my photo (I'm usually busy driving), but it's a pretty accurate portrayal how the weather was that day.

Re: Weird AC behaviour while fast charging

It could be that the 14.5kwh battery models have this stop during charge. But I'm pretty confident my model is 16kwh... Is there anyway I can confirm which model is mine? It's pretty easy. Just get Canion or EvBatMon running and check the pack voltage. The 14.5kwh have less cells so the voltage is ...

Re: Weird AC behaviour while fast charging

I've had up to 12ºC diference in cell temperature. I had some cells near 42ºC and others at 20ºC. My A/C never stopped during AC, so it could be something more specific to the newer models (since both my C-zero and Malm's imiev are 2011 model year.)
