Re: Solar panel charging

Nice to see products like this for places that don't have fair net metering laws, Tell me about it! Here in Portugal excess solar power can be sold to the grid at the fantastic price of 0.04€/kwh. No wonder everyone here is trying to use all their surplus power in-house. Some people use immersun, w...

Re: Solar panel charging

Maybe the most simple way to charge an EV with solar power is this: http://myenergi.uk/product/zappi/ It's not exactly cheap (but then again, EVSEs rarely are). Since it can adjust charging current with the amount of PV production available, you probably can't get much more optimized than this. Of c...

Re: MiEV newbie needs advice please

I don't think you should be worried about being LEV50 cells at such low mileage. That's about the same milage I have on my car and it's in tippy top shape. I have seem some heavily degraded LEV50 cells on an imiev with 62000 miles, but I believe even that is an exception to the rule, especially if y...

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

To be fair, that's not my photo (I'm usually busy driving), but it's a pretty accurate portrayal how the weather was that day.

Re: Weird AC behaviour while fast charging

It could be that the 14.5kwh battery models have this stop during charge. But I'm pretty confident my model is 16kwh... Is there anyway I can confirm which model is mine? It's pretty easy. Just get Canion or EvBatMon running and check the pack voltage. The 14.5kwh have less cells so the voltage is ...

Re: Weird AC behaviour while fast charging

I've had up to 12ºC diference in cell temperature. I had some cells near 42ºC and others at 20ºC. My A/C never stopped during AC, so it could be something more specific to the newer models (since both my C-zero and Malm's imiev are 2011 model year.)

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

Humid? Quite the opposite, really. We sometimes call the southern part of our country the "desert". A couple of weeks earlier temperatures in the region went above 40ºC, reaching 50ºC in one specific location. Not that I experienced anything remotely similar to that, but it's just to give ...

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

Last weekend I made 1000km on my c-zero. 630km on Friday, using 9 quick-charges. Issues with the A/C? None. It cloudy for most of the day, so it wan't very hot. After the second quick charge battery avg temp were around 33-35ºC, and they mostly kept within that range for the whole trip at hi...

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

1. Locate the fuse box: on my right hand drive car its near the accelerator pedal footwell area, no idea on a LHD. Pull the relevant fuses (they are named), and look for a blown fuse... google if your unsure what a blown fuse looks like. You only need to check the fuses if you think an item is brok...

Re: Some trouble with AC on my C-zero

so I just fixed the AC unit as it was graunching becasue it had amlost come completely free from the mounting parts and was making a pretty bad racket. Now that's fixed it's all fine. There are several parts to check: 1. The pollen filter as suggested by Don. 1a. Check all the relevant fuses. 2. Ja...
