Re: Want one, but cautious. Opinions please.

It could be also be helpful to get an OBD tool the canion app to check the battery capacity if you have the chance to see one up close. I already lent my OBD to an acquaintance who wanted to buy an imiev but needed to check the battery condition beforehand (which was an unheard of 23Ah!).

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

It looks like my car makes corrections to the Ah value twice a year. As I previously said, the Ah counter decreases my 0.1Ah every 20-something days. My car was at 39.9Ah this April, but in May it corrected to 40.8Ah. In October I was back to 40.3Ah but in November I noticed another recalculation to...

Re: Want one, but cautious. Opinions please.

May not have a choice in color, but ideally would want a red one, as I've read they have been proven to be faster than the others... But of course! Everyone knows reds go three times faster :D (Proud owner of red car here) Shame that you didn't get original red color in the USA. I wonder why? For m...

Re: 2012 miev ZERO battery degradation

I think 110v charging is the way to go for mievs .. if possible The new bigger n better bats coming out can take the load and heat of faster L2 n L3 charging much better I'm not sure I agree with that. I think I read around here that battery temperature increase charging at 6 amps is not terribly d...

Re: Canion

The difference is temperature seems perfectly normal after a charge. Some cells always end up hotter than others. In particular, one of the last sensors (64 or 65, I think) usually shows the highest temperature after finishing a charge. It usually goes down quicker afterwards, too. Malm has theorize...

Re: Imiev 2016 issue

I once did 630km in a day using 9 Quick-charges, followed by two slow charges and didn't notice a thing. Mine is a 2011 european model.
As long as I had the A/C trick working, battery temperature stabilized at 35ÂșC average after the 2nd or 3rd QC.

Re: Battery Capacity Testing

From my trips I understood that I have 14kwh available from 100% to 0% SOC in Canion. I made a trip from 100% to 9% and extrapolated the Wh out (minus Wh reg) to obtain this value. Furthermore, when the average consuption is 140 Wh/km, I see that I consume 1% SOC per each km, leading also to the 14k...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

So I had another deep discharge and full recharge but no new Ah value was added to the vehicle log. Perhaps it is just periodic in nature when the system records a value?? Yes, I believe it is periodic. Triplet owners here in Portugal have observed that it desceases 0.1Ah about every 20-something d...

Re: Charging experience in the UK

Thanks for the reply. I thought I would be able to use all type 2 chargers with my type 2 to 1 cable? I have used the 7kw ones before but there are others rated at 22kw and 43kw. I thought that these should be able to be connected and charge at 3.3kw? The charging post I was trying to use usually h...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

EvBatMon has shown Ah for a while now. It considers 48Ah as 0% degradation.
