Re: Strange things with quick charging

Anyway pertinent to this thread at the lower charge rate the AC does not run at all even though battery cell temps are on par with previous summers. Thinking there must be some charge rate cut off for incorporating the AC like PV1 has postulated. Aerowhatt Only on some cars, probably. If I s...

Re: Should I buy a 2010-2011 i-Miev here in Brazil???

Hey! Yes we do! Three of them. Two between the city of São Paulo and Campinas and one at the university of São Paulo, broken, but I'll try to fix it. PlugShare indeed! Works best for us. Where are you? Portugal? As you probably noticed, my car is one of three i-MiEVs in Brazil... Scary! Best Clemen...

Re: Strange things with quick charging

My AC system never shuts down during QC. It runs all the way to 90-95%, when the car charges no more on Chademo. The highest temperature I observed on a single cell was around 47º, and a pack average of 38ºC. This was after multiple QC and highway speeds of 95-100km/h. Since I made the trick to dire...

Re: Why is 240V 3x faster than 120V

That's why I measure charging speeds using Canion and SOC. Some bars represent more SOC than others, so they're not that reliable. At 240V 14Amps, I charge 20% SOC per hour, except when I reach above 90%.

Best of luck with your car. Didn't know you had Chademo chargers in São Paulo, but that's probably because I use electromaps. What's the best site to find charging stations in Brazil? Plugshare?

Re: i-MiEV (and clones) in non-supported (?) markets

I don't think triplets are that cheap in Europe. Like I said, the best deals for these cars are usually found buying in countries like France, and to find one at 5k€, it usually means it has a signifcantly degraded battery. And that's if you actually find one. Most of the offers are >7000€... Not ex...

Re: A/C sticker shock

I'm not sure about a non-working compressor. But when I had a faulty A/C fan motor, the cooling would stop after some seconds of starting a QC. But I still managed to make two Chademo chargers until I reached home, without the A/C running. Things got quite hot in the battery, but otherwise charged f...

Re: i-MiEV (and clones) in non-supported (?) markets

The triplets and Teslas are so worlds apart that I highly doubt getting Tesla there wouldn't do much. Other brands that are more into EVs might hurry in the same direction, but Peugeot/Citroen are clearly not very interested in EVs. Here in Portugal we do have support for the triplets, but they are ...

Re: Should I buy a 2010-2011 i-Miev here in Brazil???

Trying to get it to turtle (below 9.5% SOC - no bars at all) is best to observe possible imbalances in the cells. So yes, Canion is a must-have. It's unlikely that you'll find someone in Brazil that will lend you an OBDLink, since triplets owners (imiev, c-zero, ion) there should be quite scarce. St...

Re: Canion

With my phone, I found disabling the wifi helped me keep my device connected. Different brand, but might be worth a shot.
