Re: Santa Monica Boulevard

Did the guy run over a piece of steel? That's happened before. I believe the car will tell you to pull over and exit the vehicle while the flames vent out the bottom. I think we're going through another negative news media blitz similar to the Toyota Prius one 10 years ago where a Prius battery fail...

Re: 12V battery BCI Size?

. . . . but a flooded lead acid battery in a lithium powered car just seems so . . . . Twentieth Century  Don That would be great if they could find a dc to dc converter robust enough to power all the controls and accessories without a lead acid battery. Obviously it would have to be powered u...

Re: Gas Cans --> Electric Mowers

Coincidences, coincidences! Our 40 volt weedeater is a Ryobi that we bought from Home Depot 4 or 5 years ago - It's been great. The weedeater battery is only 2 Ah though, so I thought it probably wouldn't be good in the mower Don Yes coincidenes! My weedeater battery is a 2.6 Ah and did very well. ...

Re: Gas Cans --> Electric Mowers

We just bought a 19" Kobalt mower with a 5 Ah 40 volt battery to use as a trimmer mower around the yard. With more than an acre to mow, sometimes every single week (with sun everyday and rain once or twice a week, everything grows FAST) it would never do for the majority of the yard, but it's ...

$1180

I almost feel better since this price certainly includes California tire recycling fees but does it include sales tax? :?: :?

Re: They want my car

My dealer sent me an email saying my vehicle is "Past Due for its recommended maintenance" and to "please schedule an appointment" and then some coupon offers: The Works Coupon $29.95: Includes engine oil change but synthetic and diesel excluded. Too bad. :? :( Also a filter chan...

Re: Failed traction battery. How many weeks does Mitsubishi make you wait?

It took Mitsubishi about a week to analyze my battery and make a decision and then two weeks and a day to do all the work of the change out itself. This was last March and I think being in Northern California probably helped speed things up. The service manager also said that Mitsubishi had to send ...

Re: Remote fob range extension?

I would try hanging 4 to 8 feet of wire on the wall and clipping or holding your remote antenna to that while using it. It might be especially effective if you can put the wire in front of a window facing toward you car. How much building is there between you and the garage?

Re: Feb 2012 Miev with Pack Trouble at 40k miles

Later this evening when i got home the EVSE was blinking and done, the pack was at 66%SOC, 11 bars, 360 VDC, and cell #47 was still 0.150 V below all the rest. Since the balancers only drain at 0.1 Amps, it may take several days to bleed all the high cells down to the 3.95. At least i gained 1 bar ...
