Re: Got Solar!

Congratulations on putting that contraption together! Yes, very soon the temperatures will be able to get dangerously hot so make sure you have some way of limiting the upper temperature as well as having an overpressure relief valve (one probably came with the tank). A blown pipe spewing steam and...

Re: Got Solar!

A little update here. Recall that I have a 27kw electric tankless water heater that took gobs of power to heat water in my house and I had since added a 4' x 8' Alten solar thermal collector to my old 50 gallon water heater that was still in line with the tankless heater but without the gas connecte...

Re: My least favorite feature

My least favorite feature is the transmission "creep". I guess it was supposed to comfort you with that old gas car feel.

Re: Our Gas Free Miles Travelled

I'm also at just under 51k miles but in 4.5 years. My car had 2100 miles on it when I bought in in 2015. I just transferred to a new job location in San Leandro, which is about 4 miles from home. I don't even have to get on a freeway which works really well with this little car :D . I love it becaus...

Wrecked I-miev found in Stockton

I found this wrecked 2012 Silver I-miev for sale for $1200 in Stockton with front end damage. I'm was tempted myself because it's silver like mine. It looks like an SE model. It's at a wrecking yard so someone might be able to purchase parts from it especially items from the back like the charger, d...

You sound like you have the exact same problem I had. See below.

Re: Car Now Charging! (was Car Not Charging)

Congratulations and very impressive! I'm sure glad I kept a failed OBC on hand, to attempt the now 'cheap and simple' repair documented in that video. This community has reduced the repair cost from over $4000 at a dealer to $400 from a junkyard, and now down to $20 worth of parts. 8-) Thanks, Jray...

Re: Car not charging

Charger Working! It was the right snubber capacitor and the 20 amp fuse exactly as kiev mentioned. My dad helped me out by soldering in a new one. Thanks to everyone who posted on this subject. It was a big help! There was a youtube video that was helpful too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63ZWosS...
