Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Great job on making repairs to chargger #2. i assume only the one cap you changed had shown signs of damage. Regarding the troubleshooting of box #1 by swapping boards: that is a dangerous and expensive troubleshooting tactic-- i would not recommend trying this unless you have a 3rd chargger availab...

i909 pcb and info

i don't have a VCI, but a "clone" from iCarsoft, the i909. It only seems to be able to read data list items, DTCs, and clear some DTCs. It has no capability to upload firmware updates that i know of. It uses SHENZHEN LAUNCH TECH chips, a DPU 431 [U1] and a JV 700 [U3], mentioned in USPTO P...

Re: Imiev repair - precharge resistor

Here's an example of an ARCOL resistor made in the UK with similar specs as the JRM, just need to find it in 24R. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ARCOL-Ohmite/ARF150-3R-J?qs=sGAEpiMZZMve4%2fbfQkoj%252bLLtxt%2fUT9sjWtFByFQQDYE%3d They also show an interesting adiabatic impulse curve in the datas...

Curiousity killed the cat...

Here are some scope overlays and trace using a 1mV/amp clamp-on current probe at the MCU with different time base and scaling options to capture the inrush current when starting to READY. It looks like the initial current kick is about 14 Amps in ~2 msec, then current tapers back down to zero as the...

Re: Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

He did mention that one side measured 9 Ohms for part of the undamaged length and estimated two in series would be about 20 Ohms. The gauge of the wire and number of turns seems consistent with the measurement.

Re: Peugeot ION multiple problems

It's not clear but does the car run and drive as normal? Does the 12V aux battery stay charged up or does it get drained while driving? In your printout, The EV-ECU voltage is only showing 1.4 Volts. It should be at least 12 Volts. That is a problem. It tells me that some relay is not being commande...

Re: Wrecked i-MiEV Battery Pack Discussion

Great job on getting to the resistor, and it looks like your hunch was right that it was damaged. i posted a link to some datasheets on your thread about the resistor, i think the value is 24. , the "K" is an indicator that it is a 10% tolerance part. http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php...

Re: Imiev repair - precharge resistor

JRM = Japan Resistor Mfg. Co. http://www.jrm.co.jp/en/ i would guess a custom built device such as a SMV metal-clad fixed resistor, 24 Ohms [K=10% tolerance] http://www.jrm.co.jp/pdf_products/fixed_resis/smv.pdf combined with a 40W wire-wound resistor winding http://www.jrm.co.jp/pdf_products/fixed_...

Re: [Solved: Piev's Strange New Pack] Voltage vs SOC graph or table ?

i updated the first post to reveal that this issue has been solved. The pack was replaced but the "reset" procedure was not completed properly. He took it to the local dealer and now it's acting like a spankin' brand new pack. Here is link to the pack removal and installation instructions ...
