Re: i-MiEV Salvage Opportunity

Very active bidding on this car--somebody really wanted it even though it won't go to READY (airbag deploy will prevent start). i hope it didn't get flooded by the hurricanes and ruin the pack.

Winner #130272 onsite bidder at $3300. Somebody in PA and Reunion FL wanted it too but not that badly.

Re: Mitsubishi on Capacity Loss

@Carsten, Any updates or status to report on this?

If the car still charges to 16 bars then they may not consider it a defective pack. If a cell is weak or defective then charging will stop before the gauge shows the full 16.

Re: i-MiEV Salvage Opportunity

Looks like this one is coming up for auction Monday Nov. 20 at 9 am. Is anybody interested-- i would buy a 4- or 8-cell module if it gets parted out.

Re: 2012 miev ZERO battery degradation

16 bars displayed is "100%"

Using the mut-clone i found that there is a capacity display value (meter) and a capacity control value (internally stored). This is what Malm discovered thru trial and error in all his experiences--the displayed and control values are not the same.

Re: Feb 2012 Miev with Pack Trouble at 40k miles

From what i could tell by monitoring with the mut-clone, the balancers come on during the final slow stage of balancing ("CV") and not during the faster bulk charging ("CC"). i have a second kiev (white/blue 26k miles) that is showing the same cell module CM07 with #47 slightly l...

Re: So I bought the i-Miev.

There should be metal shields under the rear seat, the left side covers the BMU, EV-ECU and Air Conditioning Controller with lots of wires running around. Under the right side shield is the tire kit. There should be some thumb-screw type wingnuts that bolt the shield to the body so these will have t...

Re: Help won't charge

Was there a typo--it should read 480 Ohms when the button is pressed? If it really is reading 480 k then that could be a reason it is not starting.

Re: Feb 2012 Miev with Pack Trouble at 40k miles

Not yet. This morning i drove 25 miles to drain the pack again (down from 11 to 3 bars, 10 A-Hr remaining). When i connected level 1 EVSE the charging began but the balancer drives were all OFF. i was hoping they would all come ON except #47 in order to let it catch up. Maybe that will happen later ...

Re: Help won't charge

An OBDII dongle from Scantool, the green LX version, has Blueteeth capability to interface with an android device (phone or tablet) using the caniOn app. Wonderful tool to let you know the status and health of pack and each individual cell. It sounds like you have an intermittent contact in the char...

Re: Feb 2012 Miev with Pack Trouble at 40k miles

Thanks to siai47 for the suggestion of a pack out-of-calibration. It got me to thinking that i haven't done a calibration charge in quite some time-- so my goal today was to drive around and drain the pack without getting stranded or stuck in Turtle. And this afternoon i was able to drive ~49 miles ...
