Re: iCarsoft i909 Diagnostic Tool

i think the owner's manual has instructions on how to configure the display for km or mph. It was also posted on the forum by someone but i don't recall which thread, maybe JoeS recalls this? AFAIK, The scannr tool doesn't do this, it is done by the operator in the car.

5V buss on the control board

That 5V relay is held closed constantly during a charging session; the ceramic resistors provide an inrush by-pass circuit to precharge the 3 caps, then when they meet the full condition, the controller commands the 5V to close the relay contacts. The microcontroller chip, IC701, pin 38 drives the b...

Re: Gen1 DCDC Converter Troubleshooting and Repair

i would guess that you do need to clear the fault codes--do you know what DTCs were thrown? Do you have an OBDII scann tool to read and clear DTCs?

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC)

No don't send me any personal messages about the ceramic resistors, there is a 20 message limit and my inbox is full--just post your questions for everyone to see. If i or anyone else can contribute something useful, then we will respond. There are already plenty of discussions about these resistors...

Re: Not able to drive. P1A15 error.

Even though you bought a new aux battery, did you ever charrge it to full? No telling how long it set on the shelf at the store. A weak aux can cause intermittent operation and faults.

Re: Suggestion on Diagnostic Car Code Reader for miev?

i use a i909 from iCarSoft on my 2012 miev; not sure if it works for the 2016 models.

There may be some phone apps which can do this using a wireless OBDII device, maybe those developers will respond to your request.

Re: Troubleshooting by replacing boards?

The first page of this thread was organized such that the entire 66 pages do not have to be read to find and fix a failure of your OBC. You just need to read the first page and you can fix it. Is that too much? On the first page is a list of people and a link to their problem, and if they fixed it, ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC)

Howdy Matheos, and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear that you had OBC issues with such expenses. For sure that is the reason for this thread, to help determine what has failed and how to repair it. There are 3 boards inside the OBC/DCDC Converter; 2 for the OBC in the upper chamber, and 1 for the ...
