Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

The image link will appear in your reply as something like this: {img}http;\i.imgur.com/xxxyyy{/img] except there will be square brackets not braces but the actual image will appear when you do a preview or submit. It doesnt put the actual image in your editing window for the message. It worked for ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

p.s. Good job on getting the board out and scrapping off the coating. Seems strange they would try to use the smd caps instead of the blue lollypops. Also we see another fuse that we never knew about... p.p.s. Can you post up a photo of the backside of that bottom board--we are dying to see what's u...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

Okay i can click and see the picture. But to make it show on the forum, you need to use the "Share Links". In the upper right hand corner of the picture while you are on imgur, there will be a pull-down menu, or it may show up to the right hand side of the picture if you click on the thumb...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

thanks skylogger for the information about removing the bottom board. i've updated the first post to add links to charger issues. and edited my posts to remove mention of desoldering for board removal. i use a free hosting site, imgur.com, for my pictures. They provide "get share links" fo...

Re: And now my I will not charge!!

@1pk,

i was wrong about the solder joints. Skylogger over in Western Australia has removed the board and the power devices came out with it--no need to desolder to remove the board.

High Voltage (HV) 50A fuse

@ imiev (in reverse) If the fuse is missing or blown, then no HV would be present outside of the pack on the (+) wire of the G20 connector that runs to the A/C compressor/inverter. If the G20 is just disconnected from the inverter but the fuse was present and intact, then HV would be present outside...

Re: Supplemental cooling for the charger.

Maybe someone with a CDROM version can check for the US cars, but there are two relays shown in the online workshop manual, Lo and Hi, for the fan. Maybe a jumper wire with a switch can be made to turn on the Lo relay whenever you want it.

temperature limits

The temperature sensor measurement range is -30 to +85 C. If the sensor detects > 60 C, then it causes the cooling fan to turn on and run for 10 minutes. This is considered an abnormal high temperature condition and will throw a DTC to the EV-ECU and a MIL to the dash. During level 1 or 2 charging t...

Re: A/C sticker shock

@evie, Sorry to hear you want to give up, here is a diagram showing the AC electrical stuff. Connector G20 could easily be disconnected and left off, it would be as you said just like an electrical outlet in your house--just put some tape over the end if anyone is worried about the little kids. One ...
