Bottom of Bottom Board

i haven't traced the circuits yet, just opened the top of jray's box to remove the boards. This is a view of the plate that attaches to the heat sink. It is covered with a thermal paste that is non-conductive electrically and is really too thickly battered in places--excess compound defeats the purp...

Re: Help with scanned error codes

The picture shows that the car is in R, Reverse. It will not start and go to READY unless in Park, or Neutral.

Re: new program for monitoring charge readings

This looks like an interesting app.

Will it work with the OBDLink scantool (STN chip?), or does it require an ELM327 chip device?

Re: Switching on the balancer for an individual cell

A fellow contacted me about reading the CAN buss between the BMU and the CMUs, and from looking at the data has figured out how to turn on the balancing on one of the 4-cell CMU boards. Here are couple of videos showing the pulsing resistors with a thermal imaging FLIR camera. The visual overlay is ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

What do you see on the back side?

The heat shrink has exposed quite a bit of the sides and tops of those big electrolytic caps.

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

p.s. Good job on getting the board out and scrapping off the coating. Seems strange they would try to use the smd caps instead of the blue lollypops. Also we see another fuse that we never knew about... p.p.s. Can you post up a photo of the backside of that bottom board--we are dying to see what's u...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

Okay i can click and see the picture. But to make it show on the forum, you need to use the "Share Links". In the upper right hand corner of the picture while you are on imgur, there will be a pull-down menu, or it may show up to the right hand side of the picture if you click on the thumb...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger, DC-DC Converter

Re: And now my I will not charge!!

@1pk,

i was wrong about the solder joints. Skylogger over in Western Australia has removed the board and the power devices came out with it--no need to desolder to remove the board.
