Re: I-miev does not start. Need help

Some OBD devices will cause the car to flash trouble lights on the dash. For example i have had this happen when trying to use a generic OBDII reader made by Launch. These devices are based upon the 431 DPU chip. i've had this happen when trying to run the Torque App over Bluetooth while using the S...

Re: No READY. P1A15 error. Condenser charge timeout.

The workshop manual says that the capacitor voltage is measured in the MCU and sent to the EVECU over the CAN buss. At one time you were having some CAN error DTCs--have those returned or is it all cleared? i would guess CAN is okay since you can read the condenser voltage using the phone app. Link ...

Re: No READY. P1A15 error. Condenser charge timeout.

Probably not a good idea--member redcane had the same issue and tried to enable the contactors and blew the precharge resistor: http://myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4194 You still don't know whether or not the EVECU has tried to command the main(+), but it may be so quick that a scope w...

Good Luck

Start your own thread instead of glomming on to someone else's. If you won't take the measurements and collect the data that i recommend or request, then i can't waste anymore time trying to help. Maybe PV1 can solve your problem since you seem to think that he knows more about troubleshooting than ...

Voltmeter? Post some real voltages

Do you have a voltmeter? You never responded about the test i mentioned on page 6: "One way to check would be put a voltmeter on the EV-ECU line that commands Main[+] and see if it goes to 12V when trying to start. EVECU is under the rear seat, yellow wire in connector 111, terminal 107, check ...

Re: Not Charging. Main Inverter Fuse blown

Maybe the pack is under warranty? If so then pursue replacement; if not then it seems to me that the contactors will need to be replaced.

Intermittent Issue ==> Main Contactors Damaged

i think your contactors are damaged from back in April 2018 (see page 4) when you tried to start and then drove the car with a loose negative terminal on the Aux battery. The contactor coil was de-energized while under load (current was flowing thru the contact junction) and arcing occurred across t...

You can't judge a book by looking at the cover, and

You can't judge a battery by looking at the water. Thanks to Larry and Simon for sharing your excellent notes, that's very interesting and helpful. The resting voltage and electrolyte levels are not sufficient to determine if an Aux is good or bad--it can appear to be OK, but it's just an illusion. ...

Re: Inverter to power refrigerator during power outage

i don't know the current limit of the leeaf dc-dc converter that supplies the 12VDC from the main pack, but if it were 80 Amps, then the max power you could draw (assuming sufficient sized wiring) is 960 W. The inrush current for a frig compressor was measured and found to be ~13 Amps for 0.1 sec, a...

Re: Decyphering iMiEV and iON CAR-CAN message data

What was the length of your CAN data capture--i suspect you either need a longer time slice or need to hold the last value until it is updated. The cell PIDs are not sent out in any order, nor at any regular frequency--some seem to show up more than others. i don't know if this is due to PID ranking...
