Re: Suggestion on Diagnostic Car Code Reader for miev?

i use a i909 from iCarSoft on my 2012 miev; not sure if it works for the 2016 models.

There may be some phone apps which can do this using a wireless OBDII device, maybe those developers will respond to your request.

Re: Troubleshooting by replacing boards?

The first page of this thread was organized such that the entire 66 pages do not have to be read to find and fix a failure of your OBC. You just need to read the first page and you can fix it. Is that too much? On the first page is a list of people and a link to their problem, and if they fixed it, ...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC)

Howdy Matheos, and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear that you had OBC issues with such expenses. For sure that is the reason for this thread, to help determine what has failed and how to repair it. There are 3 boards inside the OBC/DCDC Converter; 2 for the OBC in the upper chamber, and 1 for the ...

Re: Electric motor unit warning light (stopped charging mid-charge)

... I've learned that the 12V might be part of the problem--it is the original 12V. But the dome lights still turn on bright without the key, and the radio turns on in ACC mode, and the car is able to start, so it seems like the 12V is still functioning. Can you recommend any troubleshooting steps ...

Re: Replace CMU?

Are you seeing any dropouts on the other cells in that module? It seems that a low voltage power supply issue would affect all the cells, not just one..? i think there is a forum thread with pictures and schematics of the CMU board, i remember seeing this https://i.imgur.com/7s6JTru.jpg

Re: Quick question: Not charging after installing battery.

i think your problem is due to, or aggravated by, the low auxiliary battery voltage. An old, weak or worn out aux battery can cause a multitude of faults on EVs.

Re: Replace CMU?

Not sure that this is a common fault, but there is an IC on the board that measures the cell voltages and drives the cell balancers. There may be several cases in which this chip was found to be at fault, and it could be that replacing the chip would restore your CMU. Other folks have successfully r...

size of the capacitors (С225,С227,С229,С2 3 1) [there is not a C291] the dimensional size of the caps is "0805" C227,229,231 are yellow-brown ceramics with a value of about 390 nF or .39 uF. They are all in parallel and the total across them measured about 1.22uF C225 has a pinkish color o...

Re: Level One Charger Won't Charge

Sorry to hear that it has given you some trouble right at the beginning. I wouldn't expect that missing the ground pin would cause damage to the charging cord/EVSE level 1 unit, but I suppose it is possible. The unit does a self test to check whether the ground is connected before it will allow char...

Re: No READY. P1A15 error. Condenser charge timeout.

There is a small cover on the MCU that allows access to the HV terminals, but I don't think that a multimeter will give any meaningful readings--you probably need an oscilloscope to see the rise time. There is another 220uF of capacitance in the OBC that is also connected to that same point. There i...
