Eh, but handheld electronics have probably provided a bigger impetus.

An excellent presentation of the science behind AGW and an explanation of how solid it is. Too bad most of the people who really need to see it never will.

Re: 240V Charging and Extension cables (Amazing-E)

This is the first EVSE that I'm aware of that requires 4 wires to operate - I've never seen any others that come with anything other than a 3 pin plug. There are many, many EVSEs that come with 4-pin plugs (most commonly the 14-50). But generally, their neutral is unconnected. I see no sign that th...

Re: 240V Charging and Extension cables (Amazing-E)

From there I would still need an adapter from the 14-50 to the AmazingE which is 14-30. Unless I just cut that 14-30 off the AmazingE and put a 14-50 plug on it (if that would be safe to do for the outdoor connection in the weather). If you remove the neutral prong from a 14-30 plug, it will fit in...

Re: iMiEV as workhorse

I've been thinking about getting a new TV, but I don't want to pay for delivery. So, I measured the available space in the car, then went around measuring boxes in Best Buy. I think I might just barely be able to fit in a 55", but it'll be tight.

Re: Charging Issue

Personally, I swipe the Chargepoint key fob rather than using the app. No problems that way, IIRC.

Re: I have a secret - still a mystery?

I have a really hard time believing that someone bought a $23k car and only drove it 300 miles. My 2012 i-MiEV had barely over a thousand miles on it when I bought it in 2015. Of course, it turned out to have kind of a weird history -- originally "owned" by the City of Gaithersburg, who I...

I'm pretty sure that's not a thing.
