Re: Here's a serious survey wanting experience and opinions from EV owners

Note that, per the wording of the survey, they only want responses from Oregonians.

Re: Highway cruising

Maybe it's just me, but I find the handling of the car gets iffy at the high end of its speed range. It feels like I'm being pushed around by the wind of my own making.

Re: App for EV owners to communicate regarding charging?

PlugShare does this, although "easily" is subjective. You have to make the choice to "check in" when you start charging. If you do that, then other users can message you through the app. People also often leave comments when checking in, along the lines of "OK to unplug"...

Re: Detaching the 12 volt

I went to Advance Auto Parts (for, as it turns out, probably the last time) and bought a replacement battery, and tried to take advantage of the free installation, but the guy was actually way more inept even than I was, couldn't get the negative off (didn't have the right tool and couldn't find it...

Re: Passive cooling ?

$8 to $10? :o Jesus Christ, that's *expellative* expensive. That definitely kills long trips using EVs. Well, it isn't always that much. (EVgo can cost that, if you don't get one of the higher-level plans.) But I believe his point was just, that even at those rates , it would take a long time for t...

AFAIK they're the same year to year. It would be down to individual differences (CHAdeMO or not, Nav or not, mileage, etc.).

My understanding is that the i-MiEV has much better battery cooling than the Leaf, and consequently fewer problems of this nature. But I'm just going by forum comments.

Heh, well, I don't think they "created" anything but the paint job; it's just a regular i-MiEV. But, that's the beauty of electricity -- so many ways to generate it. ;)

Re: TPMS on i-MiEVs

2. On the BMW TPMS (which to be fair is all i've had experience with, but must be a fairly widespread system), a slightly deflated tyre gives an orange warning light on the dash, and a 'flat' gives a red (I think they permanently go orange when the battery goes low/ malfunction)... which means, in ...
