That's the one noise it makes in the videos -- squealing tires. They may not hold up long.

Re: 2nd Gen Tesla Roadster

Ten times the range of my i-MiEV, and about ten times its (new) price. So that checks out. ;)

That sounds like a three-phase unit. I wouldn't expect that to work with an i-MiEV -- it puts out 400V. I'm not sure what they do work with, besides the Zoe. Anyway, you couldn't get more than 3.3kw out of it if it did work.

Re: EVs in Everyday Life

There was a Spark EV leaving the Amish Market next to me yesterday (different from the one above -- that one was silver, this one black). It was funny, because just moments before, an ICE Spark was entering the parking lot while I waited at the light, and I thought, "Too bad it's not an EV.&quo...

Re: Weird Charging Curve

I wonder if that graph is just too crude to accurately represent what's happening -- like, maybe it's rounding to the nearest kW? Those lines are awfully straight. On my JuiceBox, a typical session looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/4dnhnTm.png The location of the notch varies, but it's always the...

Ugh... I still haven't got the last two recalls done on mine; I guess I better get on it, if it's not already too late.

Re: Life with Chevy Bolt EV

I read somewhere (annoyingly cant find the link) that Toyota are planning a 200-300 mile EV with half the battery size of the Model S I'll believe that when I see it. I think at this stage it may be more "musing about" than "planning". Let me put it this way: Toyota do not deser...

Re: Is the i-Miev for us?

Be aware that the heater kills the range, much moreso than in an ICE car because an electric doesn't have all that waste heat to work from to begin with. I find the heated seat is very effective at keeping me warm, at a much lower battery drain, but it doesn't defog the windows. Still, it hasn't rea...
