Silver 2016 for sale, Austin, needs work

Base model plus fast charging, heated seats. Good shape, 10K miles. EXCEPT: Rodents got to wiring harness. Left headlight doesn't work, windshield washer pump doesn't work, looks like a sensor for AC pressure or something might be disconnected, etc. Still drives fine, no OBD2 codes. I have a wiring ...

All that makes good sense, Joe.

One other thing I'm wondering about is this: if we keep a gas vehicle, how often do I need to run it?

Re: 2012 ES with QC upgrade for sale -- $6500 obo

No, didn't sell it. Bought the other... I bought a silver 2016 that I'm driving. I swapped my silver 2014 to my daughter for the white 2012 that I had bought for her earlier. My wife has been driving the 2012 and enjoying it, but just yesterday, I loaned it to a friend whose transmission went out on...

Could anybody tell which model that was? Steel vs. aluminum wheels alone could probably make the difference between 12 and 14 seconds.

I'd be interested in contributing, but mostly if we managed to get a real one with some sort of real support.

Re: Group Purchase

The legalities (e.g. in some states such as Texas, manufacturers have to sell through dealers) and politics (e.g. Mitsubishi probably already has a really fragile relationship with some of their dealers) of doing this might be difficult to do in the US.

Re: Cruise Control and Hypermiling

1. CC is safer! Everyone driving constant speed is safer, up hills and all. I agree with that statement. Having very recently put on over 12,000 miles driving around the US and up and down the West Coast in my Tesla, almost all of it under Cruise Control (without AutoPilot), I can also attest to th...

Re: What Are Electric Car Owners Paying to Charge Their Cars

I do 98-99% of my charging on the chargepoint EVSEs provided by Austin Energy. (One of them is less than half a mile from my house.) I have never been billed by chargepoint. I give Austin Energy $25 every 6 months ($50 / year) for an all-you-can-eat electric buffet. I've been doing this for two year...

Re: WTB $5000 MIEV

rmay635703, you first started this post in May of last year. How much have you spent on gasoline in the meantime? Yeah, you might pick up a $5K stripped i-MiEV or get lucky if you keep waiting, but you're sure missing out on the EV grin. Wait a couple of more years and you might get one for <$4K......

Re: What yr did DC fast come standard? Was it an option pre2

I believe someone tried here feeding 120 VDC to the car. It errored out and wouldn't charge. While the charger can likely take DC power, and even if you can get an EVSE to shuttle DC power, the i-MiEV can't read incoming voltage when it's receiving DC power instead of AC power. The car may engage f...
