Re: I have a secret - odometer display mystery

Something that may factor in here? I've seen these cars sold "used" with very few miles. A look at the cars history shows that the dealer (unable to sell the car titled it and took the tax rebate). Instant used car with only some test drive miles on it. The service indicators are hinky. Wi...

Re: Anyone ever figured out how the Heating controls work ?

I stumbled across this updated version of the technical review of the heating unit: https://www.mhi.com/company/technology/review/Vol.54No.2/abstracte-54-2-57.html Perhaps this (below) copied from another thread will help with using the heater efficiently; Doing hiking trips to the mountains for two...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

Bonsoir, Xavier, merci de votre attention! My interface is a STN1170, but no from scantool; mine is from AH Design http://ahdesign.us/blog/stn1170-bluetooth-obdii-adapter/ Until now, everything had gone perfectly, but I do not read the capacity value I think it's not a good idea to update the AH De...

Re: Upgrading Heating System - Independent Battery Source

Bump! So Getting back to this project. I have had all of the parts etc. and a completed design for months. But once we got the recall notice on the airbags I put off going forward. Unlike some of my other mods to the car which are, for all practical purposes, invisible. This one will be obvious, rig...

Re: Chains

A really good thing to carry in the winter is a gardening shovel/trowel (because it's small) and a gallon sized zip lock bag full of dry sand, or cat litter, or fine-ish landscape gravel. Between that and the disabling of the traction control (if needed) will get you out of just about any "Stuc...

Re: EV prices in the next 3 years.

It's likely that you spend much more than $1,000 per year on gasoline. People are always a bit amazed when they actually do an accurate accounting of gasoline expenditure. Fueleconomy.gov can help make it easier to figure what it does actually cost you annually. - Actually did the math on this and ...

Re: EV prices in the next 3 years.

It's likely that you spend much more than $1,000 per year on gasoline. Eh, $1000 sounds about right to me. Average driving is said to be 10,000-15,000 miles a year... let's assume 10,000 for simplicity. A typical ICE car gets 25 MPG -- that's 400 gallons/year. And the price of gasoline is hovering ...

Re: Future of Public EV Charging

Thanks for making the thread Joe! I love my MIEV. I bought it solely for my 84km commute and it does that well although in the cold winter I come home with 2-3 bars so I’ve had to use a public charger at times. Charging for 12-13 hours overnight when I get home only gets me to 14-15 bars and I stil...

Re: EV prices in the next 3 years.

Oversimplified example : I buy a 10 000$, 2012 i-Miev and save 2000$ in fuel over the next 2 years. Total spent : 8000$. OR, I wait 2 years and, MAYBE, can get a 2014 for 7000$. Total spent : 7000$. How do you think the market prices for EVs are going to change in the next 3 years? Couple of points...
