Re: Maintenance of gearbox ....

I'm confused: GRynners, are you saying that there was some slop in the geartrain that is now dampened after the oil change, or is there a different meaning to "a little jerky on take up"? Anyone else do the gearbox oil change and notice any difference? I just recently changed it on both o...

Re: Peugeot Ion not charging with high AC voltage

Good data, thank you. Inasmuch as my neighbor and I are at the end of the line and each of us has >11kW(ac) solar, our grid voltage regularly goes up over 250vac. I replaced a solar inverter that did not tolerate >256vac, but the i-MiEV has never hiccuped. Hmm that's interesting . . . perhaps it's ...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

Judging by some of the scattered projects capturing methane being produced by bio-waste, landfills, sewage treatment, live stock manure, and other ancillary "natural" sources, do we even need to be drilling for gas? Fuel cells offer distributed generation of electricity that can be scaled ...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

Yeah, one doesn't have to look very deep into natural gas production and use to see that it is no less fraught with problems and environment issues equal to coal, nuclear, oil and all of it's refined products. It's being sold as a better alternative because there is money in it for someone. IMO the ...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

I couldn't agree more, but tell that to the millions that want it and Pruitt. . . . Current Natural gas distribution networks leak like a sieve. Hydrogen molecules are smaller than methane by quite a bit = faster leakage. . . . . .Go Hazer's solution go! Aerowhatt That leakage is measurable? Causat...

Re: Riversimple and Fuel Cell Discussions

My issue with Hydrogen is, that even with Hazer's solution, it doesn't address the consumption of natural gas in the first place. Given that I live right in the middle of the Marcellus shale madness, putting wells in and fracking causes a great deal of emissions before any gas even comes out of the...

Last I saw it was at $525 with 53 minutes to go. Got too busy and couldn't check back in time. Really stinks that you can't see what it finally sold for!

Re: Major EV Drive Components Replacement & Costs

@Aero, where are you located? There is a lightly front-end wrecked 2014 on auction tomorrow in Colorado. Looks like a good get! I'm in Albuquerque NM likely about $650 to truck it here. I'm updating my house battery storage to Li-ion so not flush in disposable resources at the moment. I would be wi...

I couldn't agree more, hence my suggestion in this post: http://www.myimiev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2917&p=35113&hilit=savvycan#p35113 My belief is that whenever a part fails, we as a group, should try to obtain it and start the reverse-engineering process. Eventually, we would ha...

Re: Who says the i-miev is cheap to operate?

First scheduled maintenance completed on one car. Transmission service - fluid change $118.00 plus tax at the dealer. In my garage - $12.88 for the real McCoy Mitsu fluid. Took 1/2 hour including pics and a PDF for the records (just in case). Super easy for anyone who can turn a wrench IMO. Didn't n...
