California HOV White vs Red stickers

Don't bother applying for the new California HOV red stickers, the only kind valid after Jan 2019. I already tried.
They are only going to new EV owners. : (

Seems new EV sales is a higher priority.

Re: Lost regen with new tires

I almost wrecked the Bolt because of it this past winter (front tires slid under regen going through a roundabout: never use the Bolt's L mode when the roads are slick :? ). Make sure you understand what features disable stability control. If it was me I would go to the dealer and ask for it to be ...

Re: Lost regen with new tires

There are so many combinations that I prefer to share my excel file with the calculations. It also has a lot of other useful stuff including range calculations. http://files.fm/g/woponqe#aa/9624Mpg_mph_imiev.xlsx Wow GdB, that's not a spreadsheet- it's a quick reference bible for all i-MiEV perform...

Re: Range extender !

As I have a salvaged i-MiEV pack on standby, the olde idea of a second trailer-mounted pack is teasing me, and whaddaya know, something useful and relevant popped up on EVTV! Jack connected two 85 kWh TESLA packs together, one at low state of charge and the other high. EV Drag racers used this tech...

Re: Optimum EV Charging and Electricity Consumption Time for GHG, TOU

Thanks JoeS for input. I have a 2005 Dodge Sprinter that I would like to make hybrid. Can you tell me about your "EV Conv: 156v '86 Ram PU, 144v '65 Saab 96" conversions? Are they documented in thread somewhere?

Optimum EV Charging and Electricity Consumption Time for GHG, TOU

In order to charge at the cleanest grid time, I have set my EVSE to only charge from 7h to 17h. Besides helping to reduce GHG, this also promotes solar, and will hasten the demise of non-renewables. Until SCE's TOU supports this and is actually cheaper for me, I'm staying on the standard NEM plan. h...

Re: What's the WORST range you've gotten

I was getting only 32 miles RR with a full charge at home. I took it to the dealer and gave them copies of news articles about battery problems at the battery manufacturer and the $30 million dollar settlement to make it right in Japan. They tested for weeks, over and over, techs from Japan, etc. a...
