Re: 12 volt power inverter for emergency home power...

Thanks.. Very helpful info. On occasion a neighborhood here might lose power for 2-3 days every couple of years, but there is always some place in the city that has power which would allow me to recharge. During construction of the tiny home we were using the 500 watt heater, before the heat pump wa...

12 volt power inverter for emergency home power...

My brother's wife wants an i-Miev. Its possibly within their budget. Trick is 4 dealerships in the region just stopped servicing them. Contact me Tigger. And absolutely enjoy your new car.

Re: New member needs commute distance help please!

Congratulations as well. Regarding cold weather driving... After a friend living in Japan sent me photos I realized it was culturally normative for many Japanese to consider heating mainly the lower half of the body and wearing warmer clothing on top in the "living room" of traditonal home...

National Drive Electric Week in Southwest Michigan Needs You!

I know there are i-miev owners lurking in Grand Rapids, Holland and likely other cities. There are 3 NDEW events happening in my region - Hastings, Kalamazoo and South Haven. We can arrange to have Level 2 charging. The Hastings Date is: September 9th at 11am South Haven is: Sept. 11th at 5pm Kalama...

Re: Adapter to use my Clipper Creek 14-50 keeps showing power failure

The CC likely has an internal power supply to generate low-voltage dc for the control circuits, and likely uses one Line leg to Neutral to source this power. Neutral is a return leg for power, but Ground is a protective Earth connection for safety and only carries current in a fault situation. If th...

Adapter to use my Clipper Creek 14-50 keeps showing power failure

A friend who has converted his Saturn Vue to fully electric and has worked as a mechanic at a big three dealership helped me build a converter socket/plug for my Clipper Creek 14-50 charger. The idea was to use the converter to make it possible for my 14-50 to charge at locations with NEMA 6-50 weld...

Re: Charging Down Route 66

I'm late to the party, but truly this is a historic trip. If I was in charge of the universe this would be listed in EV Currents or Sierra Club or National Geographic. I am SO charged up about this.
