Re: My first level 3 (dc quick charge experience)

I used a DC fast charger in NYC (thanks to one of the few electric taxi drivers and good fortune) and it was great! I really want to see more DC fast chargers. We almost have enough for a trip from NYC to DC.

Re: Environmental Question

There are quite a few research papers that have looked at this problem and all of them come to the conclusion that electric vehicles eventually are better for the environment over the lifetime of the car when powered by coal fired power plants. This benefit is greater and happens sooner if power is ...

500 mile weekend ride in 31 hours

Left my iMiEV at home and took an electric motorcycle trip last weekend. I took advantage of a 3 day weekend to ride from NYC to DC on my 2012 Zero S carrying 2 Elcon 2500W chargers. I planned out my stops so I could travel at highway speeds and charge using Chargepoint stations, which allow me to t...

Re: Environmental Question

In NJ, our power is 50% Nuclear, 30%Natural Gas, 11% coal & 9% other including solar, hydroelectric & waste-to-energy. Electric motors are far more efficient than ICE powered motors which is why driving electric causes less environmental damage. There is not a critical mass of EV's yet to be...

Re: Cross Country EV caravan - Ride the Future Tour

Here's a quick update on our progress across the country in all electric vehicles. Oklahoma turned out to be an exciting state to visit these past couple of days. Went noodling for the first time and caught a 40-45 lb catfish! Noodling is fishing by finding a hole, putting your hand blindly into it ...

Re: Measured Wall-to-Wheels Consumption

Acensor, thanks for clearing that up. Sorry if I offended someone. Since someone brought up the battery replacement concern, I wanted to share that article. I'm with JoeS in terms of wanting to see trends in usage. I've been tracking the usage of my Zero S for over a year and now have a good sense o...
